Historia
The all-encompassing wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita is applicable to every aspect of modern life. But until now, that beautiful story of the battle and conquest over our own mind has been difficult for Westerners and modern audiences to fully grasp. Translations often brush over concepts that are already widely understood by Hindu scholars. Now, we can see the Gita through the lens of modernity. We can see its myriad of lessons through practical applications to the common struggles we face today.

Wonderful reminders of the truth
Revisado: 11-25-23
I listen to this in the midst of family turmoil. Todd’s words and lovely narration helped me to find my way again to balance. I recognized that I had gotten lost, and the turmoil I was creating was in my mind not in the situation.

Historia
Gail Muller was told she’d be in a wheelchair by the age of 40. At 41, she set out to hike one of the world’s toughest treks: the Appalachian Trail - a 2,200-mile journey that would help her reclaim her life and heal her mind and body. An inspiring, moving, and uplifting memoir for fans of Cheryl Strayed’s Wild and Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love.

Not what I hoped for but okay
Revisado: 06-16-23
Like some others noted it was hard to listen to her going back again and again to a major jerk of a guy. I guess it was part of her story but I was thinking it was going to be more focused on the trail experience and not relationship issues. Also was disappointing to to hear of all the drinking and pot smoking. Why hike the trail just to numb urself out?

Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

Disappointing
Revisado: 04-25-23
I got some things out of this book but like many others was bothered by the performance of the student. Such a whiny, and at times overly hostile voice. Ugh. Eventually I abandoned it.

Historia
One of the most significant books ever written by a head of state, the Meditations are a collection of philosophical thoughts by the Emperor Marcus Aurelius (121 - 180 ce). Covering issues such as duty, forgiveness, brotherhood, strength in adversity and the best way to approach life and death, the Meditations have inspired thinkers, poets and politicians since their first publication more than 500 years ago. Today, the book stands as one of the great guides and companions - a cornerstone of Western thought.

Deep truths best sipped slowly!
Revisado: 04-05-23
I enjoyed listening to Meditations in the morning when drinking my coffee. This is a book to be savored, just like that first cup of coffee or tea of the day! Narrator was a great choice.

Historia
Gently place your attention on the steady low-pitched thrum of a gong, while chimes and bells add layers of tones to create a deeply relaxing and immersive sound experience. In order to get the most out of your listening experience, pioneering sound therapist Sara Auster recommends you dim the lights and lie down or sit in a comfortable position with an eye mask and a blanket, silence any alerts or notifications, and use earphones. These things allow you to completely unplug and connect with the present moment to intentionally prepare for sleep.

Simply Beautiful
Revisado: 12-10-20
This is a book for everyone, 5-100 years old! The background music/sound was so well done and having the author read it was also clearly the best choice. The themes are timeless and so welcome during these challenging or even typical days...
