Historia
Temperance Brennan, forensic anthropologist for both North Carolina and Quebec, has come from Charlotte to Montreal during the bleak days of December to testify as an expert witness at a murder trial. She should be going over her notes, but instead she's digging in the basement of a pizza parlor. Not fun. Freezing cold. Crawling rats. And now, the skeletonized remains of three young women. How did they get there? When did they die?

Pretty Good
Revisado: 11-22-10
Overall, I thought the story line was good and I didn't mind the forensic details and drawn out details since I was listening to the book to pass time. I also liked this narrator.

Decent plot, hard to listen to this narrator
Revisado: 11-22-10
I've listened to about 8 of Kathy Reich's books and in general I don't mind the overly technical descriptions and somewhat drawn out plots, but this particular narrator was really hard for me to listen to. She had an overpowering southern accent and overpronounced too many words. It made such an impact on the content of what she was reading that I felt it changed the personalities of the main characters (Ryan and Brennan). I've gotten used to their characters from all of the previous books and she both changed their back and forth banter and made the "Brennan" character feel quite a bit older.
The plot and story line was still good, so I guess I would recommend reading this one rather than listening to it. And I think maintaining some level of consistency in narrators is important to make sure the characters come off as the author intended.

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: When it comes to author/narrator pairings, nobody tops James Lee Burke and Will Patton in the Robicheaux thrillers. Beloved Burke hero Detective Dave Robicheaux here returns to New Iberia to solve a series of grisly murders. Seven young women in neighboring Jefferson Davis Parish have been brutally murdered. While the crimes have all the telltale signs of a serial killer, the death of Bernadette Latiolais, a high-school honor student, doesn’t fit.

Good, but starts off slow
Revisado: 08-27-10
It took awhile to get into this one, but then the story took off and it was pretty good. There were very elaborate descriptions of details that didn't seem completely relevant to the story in the beginning and this was distracting for the first couple of chapters.Once the meat of the plot started to develop, the story became much more compelling and I was hooked!
