I absolutely love this book. I am listening to again for all the nuggets I missed. I think it would be helpful to have a PDF to outline the key points for each chapter. I listen to it while driving and cannot take notes.

She read my mind and is changing my habits...

As soon as I started listening, I knew this book was different from all the other self-help books that I have read or listened to. She has a very relatable voice, I feel like she is a friend talking to me - being real with me and saying the things that NEED to be said. I love how she totally read how my mind talks back to me when she would suggest something…how did she know!?!

I am not a morning person…I am a snooze button lover. I now realize that it is because of this habit, why I feel like I am constantly playing “catch up” throughout my day and why I feel like I am losing the race - not a good feeling.

She admits this isn’t rocket science, it’s a simple concept…she isn’t re-inventing the wheel, rather she is stating a new way to start the ride…it is a tool that I will keep on using and I can’t say that about any other self-help book I have read.

Thank you Mel for writing and reading this book! I am re-listening to again, just to make sure I got every little thing you said in my psyche so that I don't question myself again, and just say: "5-4-3-2-1 GO!".

Side note: I either love it or hate it when the author reads their own book - it goes to either extreme, never the middle. I LOVE THAT SHE READ HER BOOK! If another “professional reader” had, I don’t think it would have nearly the same impact it had on me.

A lot of buildup and then a let down

I really liked the book, the story....I did not like the ending. There is a lot of build up - going from the past to the present and back for each character.... and then when you find out what happened "that night" it is such a let down...at least it was for me.

This book helps open the doors that we all have to our creator. It does not replace reading the bible, but still pours His love onto its readers. It give courage to all that have fallen and those that struggle to remain standing. It is a tremendous example of love that will make you weep in thankfulness of our Lord Jesus.

Finally a book to help me understand how HE thinks

Where does Get the Guy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I have listened to several dating books and this is by far the most helpful! I have even re-listened to it! He gives examples that I related to, and helped me understand what the guy is thinking! Why he does what he does, and what I should do to get the guy I want to talk to me!

What did you like best about this story?

He covered everything - how to get the guy interested, how to keep him interested, and how to not let him lose his interest in you!

What does Matthew Hussey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Love the accent :-)

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

One of the things I have already used is playful bantering...and it worked like a charm! I couldn't believe how easy it was!

If you are looking for a book to help you understand how men "date" and what they look for, then this book is for you! I could throw all my other dating books out now - this one is all I need!

What does Craig Wasson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The character voices he does is just amazing. He brings to life the characters and reads their parts superbly. I think I would of skipped over some of the speakings of some of the characters just because I wouldn't understand their meaning, but he narrates them so well that I got a better feel of the character thru his narration.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It did make me think and wonder, there were times when I did chuckle too. It made me think of all the what ifs, and wonder what it is was like back then....and I did get a lil taste of what life was like in the 50s.

Any additional comments?

I soooo hope that this book becomes a movie, I would love to see it on the big screen. I have told several people about it and they have also bought it and are reading now. It was a great story, not only about history and time travel, but a love story. I was so surprised to think that Stephen King was writing about love but he does he. It also made me look at the events of the JFK shooting differently and wonder what if it never happened, how would the world be. This is a great novel, it will definitely take you to a different place and make you wonder

An Idiot's Guide To Success

I would like to retract my earlier Rating (see above) and give this book FIVE stars - the only reason why I did not before (I gave it 4 stars previously) was because I did not have the workbook.

After downloading another book, I saw a link that had a downloadable pdf with it, so I came back to this book and THEN I saw the downloadable pdf with it as well! So now I have downloaded the workbook and am now transferring all my notes to it!

So please, if you do buy this book (which I HIGHLY recommend), remember to download the accompanying pdf!

Absolutely Fantastic!

This book will forever be in my library. I will read/listen to it at least once a month. It makes me feel good when I listen to it, and it makes me focus on what I want in life. I love all the audio sounds it incorporates into (most audio books do not have these sounds) and I love all the different people that are heard in the book. Rhonda's voice is calming and I am put at ease just by listening to her.

On a side note, I gave this audio book to my husband when he was depressed. I urged him to listen to it, and finally he did, and now he is no longer depressed! He sees the joy in life and is now "thinking happy thoughts". It truly worked for him and it is working in my life.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating "The Secret" Rhonda, I have received so much since learning about "The Secret" and am receiving everyday!

LOVE this listen!

I absolutely love this book...gives a straight up, no beating around the bush approach to get the riches you want in life. I have listened to it at least 4 times already and will continue to listen to it...the more I listen to the more I understand what Wallace is saying.


I will say that the narration is fast...meaning the narrator reads very quickly - that could be a good thing and a bad thing. On my first listen, I didn't like it, because I was trying to really think about what was being said, and would find that I would have to rewind it so that it could "sink in". However, now that I have listened to it several times, I like it, because it is a fast read and doesn't take all day.
