Good story, ridiculous narration for voices
Revisado: 07-25-20
I was looking forward to this light hearted continuation of the Jesse James series, however, even though the story is enjoyable the narrators choice of voice and inflection almost made getting through this book impossible. She makes Jesse sounds like a petulant 5 year old. Lolita sounds like a valley girl without a brain but with a bad ass temperament. Besides the voices, the narrator does a great job.. but those voices...

Historia
Special Agent Matthew Roarke has abandoned his rogue search for serial killer Cara Lindstrom. He's returned to the FBI to head a task force with one mission: to rid society of its worst predators. But as the skeletal symbols of Santa Muerte, "Lady Death," mysteriously appear at universities nationwide, threatening death to rapists, Roarke's team is pressured to investigate. When a frat boy goes missing in Santa Barbara, Roarke realizes a bloodbath is coming - desperate teenagers are about to mete out personal, cold-blooded justice.

Author detours from the style & storyline of previous 4 books in series
Revisado: 12-03-17
The previous books focused on the developing relationship of Roark & Lindstrom, as well as the history and psychology of Lindstrom & her vigilante tendencies. However, it became extremely obvious of the author’s political point of view and her desire to push this view through her writing of vitriolic, vile, & unnecessary op Ed’s laced throughout this entire book.
While I am not opposed to a political point of view being expressed, even in books, whether it be conservative or liberal in nature, this author obviously let out her grievances of current politics to the point that the story was lost the process.
I feel bad this book a disappointment because I was looking forward to exploring more about Lindstrom, unfortunately, Cara played a minor, almost non-existent role in this book.
