Completed book one in the bundle so i will only comment on things that i think are issued that dont matter If certain things are resolved by book 3. As they would still be issues

First off the story is decent but never really feels like it get very deep in its systems. it feels like this book loosely throws out Concepts from other books of its genre. (HWFWM and DOTF) it often feels that the author will start a concept like Veil or cultivation and expect you to fill in the blank space off of other people's works.

My bigger concern is the age and actions and implications that these characters that are casually mentioned. I really don't care to hear about a 14-year-old having a casual sexual relationship. I really don't care to hear on how a 16 - 17 year old is often disappointed in bed. there are plenty of other times where the sexualization of non 18+ characters is mentioned. It made me consider stopping the book entirely multiple times. I don't understand why the author just didn't make Matt's starting age 18.

I too am someone named Matt he was in an orphanage. (main reason why I tried the book). but never really tell a connection the main character. The most characteristic trait I can give him is that he likes money and is trusting to a fault. but I have always found that kids in the orphanage were also very suspicious of everyone, quick to violence and HORRIBLE with money lol.

Decent value good listen while waiting for your next main line books to come out.

If you struggled with their last 2 books or so rest assured that book 11 is as good as some of the best books in the series.

The other cast have are much more involved.

Alot of what im going to call repeating phrases that you have seen the last 4 books are different. I did not realize how much I appreciate the change in vocab intill this book.

Battles and longer cultivate aren't as wordy. I almost never had to rewind because I blacked out from the wall of text talking about the the stars or whatever.

Best book in a while!

Well done short story. Has the same strong writing of the 3rd book. Always glad to get some more info on Jacob's side of things. If there is a 4.5 I would definitely like to go through it (hopefully longer then a few hours although). If you liked He who fights with monsters book four this should feel at home. VA is great as always. A whole credit is bit much wish there was an option for $7.99 or even $10.

Nice job gents hope you keep going strong.

VA: Good, no complaints.

MC: for someone who is desperate to learn magic and has a companion of untold amounts of knowledge, barely learning more then 2 spells is kinda disappointing.
The MC doesn't lean into his strength or the rune drawing all that much. if you have some child prodigy of rune drawing and is performing ruital circles at 13 and drawing protection runes that was able to keep out the end of the world. Why does it feel like this MC barely knows anything. there is only two instance i can think of where the MC did anything interesting with them. 1 being a light for his neighbors that can't turn off. ( I could understand if it had a reason like the MC having to go to his neighbors rooms often and using that to develop the plot via conversation or the kind act being used to soften Henry to the idea of friends) but because the lights don't turn off and nothing is done with this it just makes him come off as novice at best. I like space magic i think it is a great power set. I feel like this MC struggle with a core set outside of throw gravity balls at people. why not have 4 spells as a core
gravity balls
An anti gravity spell that acts as a push spell
A Heavy spell that slows people
and the spell at the end of the of the book as a defensive. you could make much more interesting fights and there are balancing plot elements you can use to make the reader know when the MC is getting stronger. (i was finally able to push character Y back or character X even though was inside of my heavy spell moved to fast for me to see.)

Plot: Where was this books big bad? even if it was something super simple like a teacher trying to mess with MC teachers bets and that teacher tries to sabotage the ranking matches. The book feels more like a prolog then anything else to me. i don't know if i really want to read the second. there was alot of potential here and i just felt like alot of it was waisted on eating shitty food (which served no real purpose). Also the MC says bye to his Mom and then straight up never even considered telling his mom that he got into school or if he is alive or that he did well in the tournament. Dude dropped his family at earliest plot convince.

Summary: You can tell that the author has a vision but it just feels like this book needed more time, or it was forced to launch early. If that is the cause then it probably would of been a much better book. Maybe if the second book goes on a BOGO sale or I win the lottery I'll give it a read.

Writing is hard AF I hope your next venture is better

Audio

I can tell if this voice actor has a lot of talent but the MC accent is just a little too sharp for me. this would be a awesome voice for some side character but hearing it all the time is just a little too sharp for me.

Story

I Feel like alot of the fun of LitRPG are the first few chapters of confusion and struggle to come to grip with whatever the new world the character find themselves. It gives a clear view of the characters strength's and major characteristic

Zackery Atwood almost bleeds out after his first encounter and has to use overwhelming strength to overcome his obstacles. This becomes a major characteristic of the characters.

Jason Asano gets captured by Cultist and has to overcome fear and do many brave act which becomes a major characteristic.

This is clear in almost all LitRPG

Jake from Primal Hunter uses his instincts.

Rez from the King Dark Tidings is Ruthless, efficient and clueless

This MC just seems clueless and has very little reaction to anything. Gets attack by a 2 meter bug and just bitches about his shed. Oh and he without effort kills the first Monster with a single cut.

Based on this and the unfortunate direction of the voice acting i can not recommend and will not continue as there are so many other books and credit get expensive.

Sorry if there are spelling mistakes.
