Historia
Sleep is one of the most important aspects of our life, health and longevity and yet it is increasingly neglected in 21st century society, with devastating consequences: every major disease in the developed world - Alzheimer's, cancer, obesity, diabetes - has very strong causal links to deficient sleep. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why its absence is so damaging to our health. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

Historia
Farm animals have been disappearing from our fields as the production of food has become a global industry. We no longer know for certain what is entering the food chain and what we are eating - as the UK horsemeat scandal demonstrated. We are reaching a tipping point as the farming revolution threatens our countryside, health, and the quality of our food wherever we live in the world.

Audio was poor, the content was good/scary
Revisado: 12-14-18
The audio kept slightly changing volume.
The content of the book was good. It's scary really, to know what is actually going on in the Industrial Farming sheds.
I hope more people listen to this and change their habits.

It is meant to be a celebration, but it ends in tragedy. As fireworks explode overhead, Evelyn Hardcastle, the young and beautiful daughter of the house, is killed. But Evelyn will not die just once. Page Turner, or Commute Lengthener
Revisado: 07-30-18
I loved this murder mystery. It took a little while to get going, but I trusted in the reviews here on Audible and it was worth it.
I wanted to keep listening to the story, even when my commute was over. I gets into a great flow after the janky start.
I'm really happy I seen the cover of this book in the book shop and added it to my Wishlist here.

Spring has come to Ireland, where Thorgrim Night Wolf, new-made Lord of Vík-ló, and the 300 Viking warriors under his command have suffered through a brutal winter. Despite having accomplished much during the months of cold and rain, the patience of the men has worn thin, and anger and frustration threaten to tear the ships' crews apart. But just as the men are turning on one another, a local Irish lord arrives with a proposal, a plan for Irish and Norse to join together in a raid.

Best in the series yet. Cliff Hanger ending that built on the previous book's ending. I'm really looking forward to the next one.

I watched the TV show first and it was better than the book. It's one of the rare cases of the TV show having more lore than the book.

Historia
In The Wind Through the Keyhole, Stephen King has returned to the rich landscape of Mid-World. This story within a story within a story finds Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, in his early days during the guilt-ridden year following his mother’s death. Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape-shifter, a "skin-man", Roland takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast’s most recent slaughter.

Terrible
Revisado: 01-20-17
I had high hopes for this book. But it was terrible. The frame story had potential, but the resolution to The Skinman Mystery was solved in five minutes. The inner story was completely unrelated to the frame story, despite Rolland saying "this finds me of a story my mother told me".
King was the worst narrator I have ever heard.

Good Villan Guessing
Revisado: 01-22-16
What did you love best about Career of Evil?
I really liked the whole "Who done it?" aspect of the book. The three villans suspects were well fleshed out through Strike's flashbacks. They each had reasons to be the main suspect.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot got better as the book went on. I started lisening slowly, and then for the second half of the book, I was listening to it in my car and while making dinner, to find out what was going on.
Which character – as performed by Robert Glenister – was your favorite?
I have a real soft spot for Shanker. I really liked how his voice was virtually unreckonisable from the other characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
The second half of the book was better than the first half.
Any additional comments?
I'm looking forward to the next book, there's still some unanswered questions about the main characters.

Excellent period book with a well executed plot.
Revisado: 08-10-12
Where does The Count of Monte Cristo rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I loved this book, it ranks up near the top, I'd say about third currently based on my current Audible library.
What did you like best about this story?
My favourite bits of the book were those that revolved around real historical events, such as Napolean's return and the history of the family who hid the treasure.
I love fiction that revolves around real events, such as the Metal Gear Solid franchise.
I really liked how The Count was controlling events.
Which scene was your favorite?
This book had loads of great scenes, but my favourite was where Caderousse tried to break into The Count's house in Paris, he was greated by Abbé Busoni. Then went outside and got stabbed.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It took a while for me to get into this book, but when The Count got to Paris I didn't want to stop listening.
Any additional comments?
I've added Andre's other main books to my wishlist.
John Lee gave a great performance here!

A fantastic crime novel
Revisado: 08-10-12
If you could sum up The Girl Who Played with Fire in three words, what would they be?
Mystery, Crime and Punishment.
What other book might you compare The Girl Who Played with Fire to and why?
It's hard to compare this to other books, I've read, as I've not read a great many books. I'd say it's a lot like the movie Pulp Fiction. Salander goes missing for ages in the middle of the book, the book describes the events happening to the other characters. Then it revisits her actions over the same time period. This happens in the kidknapp/fight scene between Nidermann and Wu/Roberto.
I really can't wait for the Hollywood version of the movie to come out, the Swedish one ruined the fight scene.
Which character – as performed by Saul Reichlin – was your favorite?
Salander, I loved the last words she said, "Kalle Bastard Blomkvist", started laughing like hell.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
The same as the book's tag line, "There are no innocents, just different degrees of responsibility".
Any additional comments?
I'm in the process of downloading the third book, can't wait!

Really well written and really well read!
Revisado: 02-23-12
Where does The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
So far I've listened to the five
What did you like best about this story?
I loved how Micheal's back story is told through Lisabeth's report, and how Lisabeth's story is told in her head. I love all the Nazi, family history, religious, crazy, mystery plot and themes in the story.
What does Saul Reichlin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I loved Saul Reichlin's performance here, lots of distinct voices and excellent Swedish pronunciation of the town and character names
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but at 16 hours, I felt that this book was a bit short, as I listen to it at double speed. The other books I listened to were 30-50 hours long. But after seeing the movie, I could pick it up and put it down.
Any additional comments?
Can't wait to listen to the other books in the series and see the other movies.
