A Different Kind of Tale

The story was very interesting and fun. It was such a neat way to have a different take on history. Loved that concept. The narrator tends to yell while she is reading where it seems like yelling isn’t warranted. She tells the story well, but her tone is too forceful through the entire book, and she made Jane seem loud and obnoxious with her loud “yelling” tone way too often. I wanted to picture her a little kinder, but she made her sound spoiled and hateful when she really wasn’t. It was weird. I did like her accents and different voices.

I really loved this story. It was shorter than most books I have listened to on Audible, but it was a sweet and endearing story. I smiled, I had tears, and I enjoyed the characters. A great one to check out!

This was a very good story and the characters had great chemistry together. I laughed out loud in some parts and enjoyed what enfolded between the two. Loved the Scottish accents. The narrator did a great job!

This novel is a great read. It’s sad, it’s exciting, it’s romantic, it’s hot. Very well written and the character’s interactions with each other had me wanting to listen to the next chapter without stopping. A great read (or listen on Audible)

Sweet Story

I liked this story a lot. Magnus is rough and a little crazy but oh so sweet and will protect Virginia at all costs. I love that about him. Both characters were well written and I love that this series has a little comedy thrown in when the time calls for it. The brothers and cousins in this family are awesome. Also, the narrator is talented with all her accents. Highly recommend

I chose this book because I’m a fan of the talented narrator. The story was good, I just wish Cam was a little more heroic—maybe not so wrapped up in what the people think. I know in that time period it was all about not having a scandal, but I feel like he didn’t do enough to help her when she needed him, more just “patching” the issues like he was always ashamed. Overall I liked the idea of the story and liked Lady Bridget’s character very much.
