Historia
The ruling Asharites of Al-Rassan have come from the desert sands, but over centuries, seduced by the sensuous pleasures of their new land, their stern piety has eroded. The Asharite empire has splintered into decadent city-states led by warring petty kings. King Almalik of Cartada is on the ascendancy, aided always by his friend and advisor, the notorious Ammar ibn Khairan - poet, diplomat, soldier - until a summer afternoon of savage brutality changes their relationship forever.

Historia
War has been simmering for generations, but the Legend is about to make the violence boil over. Forces gather from across the continent and even across the world as complex conflicts are forced into narrow categories. For the first time, Tani and her allies have a chance to make a difference, but that will pit them against one of the most dangerous warriors in the world. The Zeitai wants war as much as the Hero, and the result may really be the end of everything. Time is running out, sending everyone scattering in different directions before the final battle.

A great follow up
Revisado: 12-26-22
I think this book recaptured more of what I enjoyed about book 1 than book 2 did, solidifying it as one of my favorite modern epic fantasy series.

cool spy novel
Revisado: 05-06-22
I enjoyed the story. my only real issue was with the audio mixing. The narrator raised his voice a lot, and it was too loud at those times. I've never had another audio book with that issue

Half a century after the Doomsday Battle, the uneasy balance of Dark Forest Deterrence keeps the Trisolaran invaders at bay. Earth enjoys unprecedented prosperity due to the infusion of Trisolaran knowledge. A solid first entry.
Revisado: 09-26-21
I enjoyed it overall. it's a unique setting and interesting magic system. My issues are primarily technical.
I do think it'd be well served by a more stringent editor, as there were many times we were taken away from the action to be given detail about the world that would never again be relevant and took away from the gravity of a given moment.
For example: there's a instance where a character is about to do something dangerous, and we suddenly get a paragraph regarding to climate of the area. Does said climate affect the task at hand or add depth? Not at all. It took me out of the moment every time it happened.
