Historia
Neither cosmic philosopher Lars Soren, hotshot pilot Bianca Petrescu, nor the high priestess Jessica McHugh—Lady Death herself—can say quite where in the galaxy they are. But after an experiment gone horribly wrong, one thing is clear: Asphodel Station isn’t in orbit around Jupiter any longer. Worse, the monsters that live out here—ancient eldritch beings thought only to exist in stories and nightmares—have now been alerted to Earth’s existence.

Revisado: 06-15-24
Enjoyed because of the narrator’s skill. But can’t help feeling I got conned a bit. However I will buy the next as well I’m sure. I was just really disappointed in the story.

Historia
We were outnumbered, outfought. Mankind was about to fall to the alien Flock. Our only chance was a desperate gamble, transforming Tier One SpecOps agents into deadly super soldiers. In the end, we won the war, but we lost the peace. The Flock surrendered and spent the next two hundred years making reparations, indentured to humanity, doing everything humans did not want to do. And the evolved super soldiers were consigned to an endless sleep. Ready if ever needed, but in time they became myths. Abandoned and forgotten.

Kagen reused for a space battle. Honestly , this is the first book by the author I’ve not enjoyed. But others may well enjoy it .

The most secret agency inside the American government, Department 5656, otherwise known to a few in power as the Event Group, has finally encountered an entity they have no idea or plan on how to confront. With a past mystery over the strange disappearance of an old friend from its grave occupying the brilliant minds deep inside the underground desert complex, a strike against the very heart of the group itself is underway. With roots going back to a desert battle in 2006, history has begun to repeat itself.

This time I wish I had read the reviews first
Revisado: 02-08-23
I as a general rule, I base my decision to purchase off the samples. I leave the reviewer to his or hers own opinions. I did question the narrator on the sample as perhaps an AI or just a cold fish. But it was worse than I expected and went downhill from there.
I had the similar thought as another reviewer, as to the authors plan to just kill off the series. He kills off so many characters worth cause and the original narrator. I felt like he was sorta “flipping the bird” to his loyal followers.
It’s the same thing King did in the Dark Tower series. It left such a bad taste with me to the point I can’t enjoy any further works.
Just very disappointed!

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Bitter disappointment
Revisado: 09-14-22
Unfortunately this will probably be my last King read / listen. Honestly I believe this was written Owen. After how terrible Sleeping Beauties was, I think Dad put his name to it help it sell. It’s spends so much time like a Koontz novel, with a few familiar names and places from the Dark Tower lingo tossed in to keep you hoping. Then crashed and burns for hours upon hours. Not sure what the 5 stars reviewers read but to each their own. Liseys story and Duma key were outstanding, this latest just doesn’t hold a candle to anything.

It’s been 20 years since 9/11, two decades since the United States was attacked on home soil and set out to make the guilty pay with their lives. In the shadows, the enemy has been patient - learning, and adapting. And the enemy is ready to strike again. A new president offers hope to a country weary of conflict. He’s a young, popular, self-made visionary…but he’s also a man with a secret.

Spent the beginning setting you up for other books to follow. Terrible story with stupid ending. Very dissatisfied with the effort given compared to his previous work.

Historia
Roland Deschain and his ka-tet are bearing southeast through the forests of Mid-World, the almost timeless landscape that seems to stretch from the wreckage of civility that defined Roland's youth to the crimson chaos that seems the future's only promise. Followers of Stephen King's epic series know Roland well, or as well as this enigmatic hero can be known. They also know the companions who have been drawn to his quest for the Dark Tower: Eddie Dean and his wife, Susannah; Jake Chambers; and Oy.

I have enjoyed his books for years but,
Revisado: 09-28-18
I wish he would stick to his writing. Like most actors and athletes, Mr. King has fallen into the same trap. Because they have reached popularity for what they do, they somehow feel the need to share there views on politics. As I mentioned, I enjoy his books. But when he opens his mouth, I wish I had never bought his books.

The book by King, was enjoyable ! I'm a huge fan of the Dark Tower series. The second book was entertaining while I was busy. But to much like a romance novel with out romance. Also kept waiting for John Carter to jump into the story.

Historia
"I believe there is another man inside every man, a stranger...." writes Wilfred Leland James in the early pages of the riveting confession that makes up "1922", the first in this pitch-black quartet of mesmerizing tales from Stephen King. For James, that stranger is awakened when his wife, Arlette, proposes selling off the family homestead and moving to Omaha, setting in motion a gruesome train of murder and madness.

2 outta 3 ain't bad
Revisado: 11-12-16
The first story was the reason for my overall rating. It's painfully boring. I first purchased the book, I just couldn't get into it, thought maybe the audio version ( on sale for $5 ) would give it something extra. It did not, however the remaining stories were entertaining.
