Historia
Slamming the door on the hellscape of 1980s Belfast, Detective Inspector Sean Duffy hopes that the 1990s are going to be better for him and the people of Northern Ireland. As a Catholic cop in the mainly Protestant RUC he still has a target on his back, and with a steady girlfriend and a child the stakes couldn’t be higher. After handling a mercurial triple agent and surviving the riots and bombings and assassination attempts, all Duffy wants to do now is live. But in his final days in charge of Carrickfergus CID, a missing persons report captures his attention.

Historia
Atlanta, 1974: It's Kate Murphy's first day on the job, and the Atlanta Police Department is seething after the murder of an officer. Before the day has barely begun, she already suspects she's not cut out to be a cop. Her male uniform is too big, she can't handle a gun, and she's rapidly learning that the APD is hardly a place that welcomes women. Worse still, in the ensuing manhunt she'll be partnered with Maggie Lawson, a cop with her own ax to grind.

Just Loved It! Man, can this guy spin a yarn! I enjoyed this book so much. I listened to it every moment I could. The narration was 110% perfection! I hated for it to end, I really did. Thank you so much Mr Weir for another great sciencey space book.

I loved this book& the characters. The story kept me interested every moment-no dull over-long descriptions of non-essential things, no boring passages-just great from start to finish! The narration was perfect. I can't wait to read the next book with these same characters!

Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

I liked it because I couldn't figure out the culprit. I went from PERSON A to PERSON B etc. etc. I usually always figure it out ahead of time.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Loved this!
Revisado: 04-11-24
I love Stephen King but some stories I definitely like better than others. A co-worker was listening to this and she said it was 'ok' so I was wondering how it was.. I don't think she had really gotten into it yet.
So I kind of took a chance - and omg I LOVED THIS BOOK. I listened to it every chance I got, I couldn't stop and I didn't want it to end. Loved all the characters, loved the 'fairy tale' aspects, loved Radar!
The narrator was SO GOOD - I think a great deal of my enjoyment was due to his narration. He really WAS Charlie. I will seek out other books narrated by him, he was that good. And nothing can ruin an audiobook faster than an annoying narration.
Did I mention how much I loved this audiobook? I LOVED IT.

Historia
Slough House is a dumping ground for British intelligence agents who've screwed up cases in any number of ways - by leaving a secret file on a train or blowing a surveillance. River Cartwright, one such "slow horse", is bitter about his failure and about his tedious assignment transcribing cell phone conversations. When a young man is abducted and his kidnappers threaten to broadcast his beheading live on the Internet, River sees an opportunity to redeem himself.

It was boring and the characters just weren't filled out @ all. I was shocked when it ended-nothing had happened yet. Hard to follow & keep interest. Hope to get my credit back on this one.

Revisado: 02-02-24
Been waiting so long for this book and I just hate that it's over. I love these characters so much & the story was fantastic. The narrator makes it all happen, I would never be able to enjoy these books now if you changed the narrator!
Now I have to wait a long time for the next one-arrghhh! And after that cliffhanger! I was saying "come on...come on!!".... but I have to wait. Not fair!! :)

Historia
Have you tried all the "get fit books" and failed and even ignored your own doctor warning you to get in shape? Do you feel hopeless, depressed, and angry? Then this book is for you. I wrote this as a motivation for myself, because I used to be struggling, out-of-shape with a sense of hopelessness, and I swore that I would never go back to that dark place. I was working seven days a week, smoking and drinking for years, until I woke up one day and realized that I was going to die and that “no one was coming” to save me.

Oh man, this was almost comical
Revisado: 11-26-23
This guy is like someone's obnoxious ex-military father who knows everything. Thank goodness it isn't very long, and everything he says IS true, but it's pretty common sense. And if you don't mind being sarcastically called "Sparky" or him insulting every art related potential career, maybe you'll enjoy it.
If you're thinking about it, try and get it at the price I did which was like $2.75. I kind of feel it is overpriced at that.
YA GET THAT, SPARKY??
