The demon possessed vacuum was dumb and dumber level stupidity that just took me out of the story.

Some slapstick style comedy, I can roll my eyes and continue…that one was too much.

I stop listening and contemplate, actually returning the book because I know I will never go back to it.

Bray was the only redeeming quality.

The movie actors in this book were HORRIBLE voice actors. None of the characters were believable except for Skippy and Colonel Joe.

This goes to prove while a voice actor can make a bad book okay, a bad actor to make a good book unlistenable.

Classic Kenyon. !!!

I'm on my third listen. This book was ambitious because it introduced about a dozen new characters while at the same time either advancing the storyline of and/or providing more backstory for half a dozen reoccurring characters.

We now know where Ren's ties to the Tyvali originated.

Nero became a little bit less mysterious.

We learned a lot about Jane.

The Hauk family tragedies are explained in a way that a puppet master is revealed. There are schemes and motives we didn't even know existed . I personally would not have been able to connect those dots.

If you have not read Born of Night you got a Cliff's Notes version. Again more man behind the mirror type of revelations, which in this case was a perfect approach because it made an old storyline relevant to the new book instead of just being a regurgitation of old characters.

Best of all , every reoccurring characters either present or mentioned in this book were all there for a reason and not just because they're fan favorites.

I have to admit that I didn't want to like this book. I didn't understand why Sherrilyn would introduce so many new characters to the universe when they were still stories left to be told. If you feel the same, just hang in there. TOTALLY worth it.

Changing the narrator ...

When a good narrator brings a character to life don't kill it by changing narrators. Thats no disreapect to Heybourne. He does not tell the same story as Fred Berman...

Horrifying Female Impression

I have a preference for male narrators who read romance. Holter Graham and Fred Berman are among the very best.

This narrator gave me a splitting headache after about 3 hours listening to his female vocal impression.

I did not rate the story because I did not finish it but the narration is horrible. Not only will I not finish this book, I will in fact return it.

Too many teasers

There were two or three new storylines introduced in this book. So much so that the book was left incomplete in my opinion. There's a difference between cliffhangers and just underdeveloped characters and plot. I still enjoyed it

.. a storyteller. The computer generated used on a Kindle does better than this guy did at telling a story.. and I didn't get past the first chapter.. Sorry Mr. Hearne, when I have time to read the text. Maybe I will like it.

From the very beginning this book was so emotionally raw and moving. My heart broke over and over again for Zarek. Yet there were parts when laughter brought tears to my eyes :) Sundown is my new favorite Dark Hunter!
