New twist on love
Revisado: 03-21-25
Such a unique premise for a book. I really appreciated that Trisha Larson Harmon delved into the damaging effect of unresolved grief. This is such an important theme that so often is overlooked.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Gratitude over regret, a lens of hope rather than despair
Revisado: 05-02-21
It’s so different than anything else I’ve ever read. A woman, after attempting suicide, in an “in between state, gets infinite chances to see what life might have been like if she had made different choices. Although this sounds sad, it really is about gratitude—even for hardships— over regret, and hope over despair.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Intimate and informative stories of one young mixed-race boy’s survival amidst apartheid
Revisado: 07-31-18
Such an intimate look into the childhood of a mixed-race man raised in the midst of South Africa apartheid, with reflections on the racism, poverty, education, religion, domestic abuse, and the legal and medical systems in South Africa. How he can share these stories in a way that somehow isn’t completely heartbreaking fascinates me. I am humbled by his stories of survival.
