It's a good, short story and you'll quickly catch on to what James is, though who he really is is a nice surprise later.

Historia
On the prison world of Zartak, darkness has fallen on arbitrators and inmates alike. The Night Lords have come, bringing with them the shadow of fear and pain. But these monsters are not the only ones with an interest in Zartak. From the void, running on silent, another fleet emerges. These Space Marine warriors are grey-clad and white-faced, and their eyes are as black as the Outer Dark – the savage Carcharodon Astra.

Just what I was hopeing for
Revisado: 06-29-24
This is definitely what I was hoping for, never thought it'd be coming. The story itself is gripping and good in its own way, but I also don't normally consume alot of Astartes novels. The Narrator was perfect for the tone though and perfectly made me feel the difference between the cold Carcharadons and the twitchy Night Lords.

Not a bad story, but...
Revisado: 08-05-23
Needless to say I can see what Nathan was going for when he originally wrote this, that Felix was starting to feel his age and was less headstrong and eager as he used to be maybe in his 20s or something, but this somehow feels a bit like a less capable Felix. After 20 years he should be able to keep up better with Gotrek at least when it comes to looking into things, not feel like it's only been a year since we last saw them and he still hasn't caught a couple things from watching the Slayer.
There's also the ending, which drags itself along for a good hour long before the book ends over the course of basically one action scene in the same location that coulda been done in less than half that. Overall, it's probably the least of the Gotrek and Felix books so far. Which isn't to say it's not good, it's still very enjoyable, and Mr Keeble carries the characters well. It just had better standards to reach for and didn't.

Historia
With only one bastion still standing on the once unconquerable fortress world of Aranua, Warboss Gazrot Goresnappa should be basking in the light of impending victory. Instead, he lies ‘proppa dead’ beneath a decapitated Gargant’s head. The biggest and baddest bosses from each of the six (no-longer-united) clans step forward to duke it out to become the next warboss – but the ork gods have other plans. A prophecy foretells of a mysterious gate that lies beneath the human city. The one true warboss will be the first to find it, and will use it to turn the galaxy green.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHH!!!!
Revisado: 03-28-23
The story is, admittedly, not unique or inspired, but it is quintessentially an Ork Book and it is by itself perfect the way it is even if it's only better than average. If you were reading the paper/tablet version of this, you'd still have fun probably with your own voices. However Harry Myers' performance elevates this into amazing and fantastic and a must listen for ANY Ork fan. The story knows what it's about and doesn't pretend otherwise, Harry has a fantastic time giving each ork and grot his own personality, the humans don't suffer for being secondary characters, and there is some small surprises that you could probably guess ahead of time but you won't care because it's all fun.
Listen to it rather than read it yourself, you'll thank me.

Historia
Worn out after decades of packing steel and raising hell, Viv, the orc barbarian, cashes out of the warrior’s life with one final score. A forgotten legend, a fabled artifact, and unreasonable amount of hope lead her to the streets of Thune, where she plans to open the first coffee shop the city's ever seen. However, her dreams of a fresh start pulling shots instead of swinging swords are hardly a sure bet. Old frenemies and Thune’s shady underbelly may just upset her plans. To finally build something that will last, Viv will need some new partners, and a different kind of resolve.

A good show
Revisado: 01-05-22
A great representation of what the Black Library can be when not focusing on the Astartes, and as always peppered with self aware humor when everyone involved knows the 40k universe is not supposed to take itself seriously.

Great performance, not as great script
Revisado: 08-10-21
Fantastic cast and performances, despite a couple shortcomings of the script. somehow it felt a little rushed, and unnatural when a character described the action, but it didn't stop being a great story and above average adaptation. Will listen to again.

Who better to repel a body-snatching alien invasion than a group of teenage horror nerds? Billy and Tom are best friends, but each knows that at the end of the school year they'll be moving in different directions. But why not go out with a bang and throw one last video night? They can invite some girls over, order a pizza, then maybe try and fight the alien infection that's taken hold over their suburban town. It's The Breakfast Club meets The Night of the Creeps in this slime-drenched '80s horror romp.

Do you like B-Horror schlock?
Revisado: 04-13-20
Then get this right now. Follow the strangest alien invasion story I've seen in my life that's imaginative, well read by a good narrator, and generally one of those stories where you easily forgive any inconsistencies because you're having a good time. Perfect? No, but that's what you'll like about it.
