Historia
This book is about pleasure. It’s also about pain. Most important, it’s about how to find the delicate balance between the two, and why now more than ever finding balance is essential. We’re living in a time of unprecedented access to high-reward, high-dopamine stimuli: drugs, food, news, gambling, shopping, gaming, texting, sexting, Facebooking, Instagramming, YouTubing, tweeting....

Powerful information

I can identify with any of the “addicts” portrayed in this book. Any of us are susceptible to the dopamine addictions that plague our world. The author educates, informs, and encourages the audience to find a balance between pleasure and pain. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to be happier with life, experience less pain, or get started on the road to recovery from addiction (big or small).

Historia
Is someone else's problem your problem? If, like so many others, you've lost sight of your own life in the drama of tending to a loved one’s self-destructive behavior, you may be codependent—and you may find yourself in this book. With personal reflections, exercises, and instructive stories drawn from Beattie’s own life and the lives of those she’s counseled, Codependent No More helps you break old patterns and maintain healthy boundaries, and offers a clear and achievable path to healing, hope, freedom, and happiness.

Eye-opening

My therapist recommended this book over a year ago. Once you read this book, you won’t be able to un-see your own codependent behavior, or that of others. It helped me see the benefit in establishing healthy boundaries with others, and how there is hope for the future, whether you are with or without the ones that you are codependent on.
