Jesus was a real person, right? You might be surprised at what data science has to say. Christ Before Jesus presents a first-of-its-kind analysis using proven, peer-reviewed mathematics and software which reveals a second-century origin for the books of the New Testament.

Incredible. Math is hard to argue with it. It’s cold blooded and high and tight. I’ve never heard such a compelling story about where Jesus came from

He does a fantastic job of being practical. It’s like you hear different spiritual teachings and now understand the practical application of it. Practicing presence and staying present has changed my life in so many better ways. I hope everyone can experience this however they find it.

The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

I love Skippy
Revisado: 06-10-23
How bittersweet to finish the series. I wish I could read it again for the first time. It has some slow parts but what do you expect for a 15 book series. Overall it’s probably the best sci-fi fiction series I’ve ever read.

Historia
Historians have long told the story of America’s birth as the triumph of Jefferson’s democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton. Chernow presents an entirely different man, whose legendary ambitions were motivated not merely by self-interest but by passionate patriotism and a stubborn will to build the foundations of American prosperity and power.

I love that it isn’t too biased. It presents Hamilton in all his foibles and strengths. Fantastic.

Historia
United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.

From an acclaimed Harvard professor and one of Time’s most influential people, this paradigm-shifting audiobook shows how almost everything we think we know about aging is wrong, offers a front-row seat to the amazing global effort to slow, stop, and reverse aging, and calls listeners to consider a future where aging can be treated.

Incredible
Revisado: 05-12-20
Just incredible. If he wasn't leading genetics research at Harvard you'd think this was science fiction, but the good news is that it's not. Way to go David Sinclair and thank you for all of the hard work you've put in so far into research and for getting this book out there. For those considering a longer lifespan it's necessary to remind everyone that Sinclair isn't just talking about increasing your lifespan but also your "healthspan." That is to say, the amount of time you spend in good health. He (and I think everyone) would agree that aging to 150 years old (for example) but being a vegetable isn't a way to live, so he's focused on both keeping the body healthy and reducing the effects of aging. READ IT. READ IT. READ IT.

Historia
It was on the Silk Roads that East and West first encountered each other through trade and conquest, leading to the spread of ideas, cultures, and religions, and it was the appetites for foreign goods that drove economies and the growth of nations. From the first cities in Mesopotamia to the emergence of Greece and Rome to the depredations by the Mongols, the transmission of the Black Death, the struggles of the Great Game, and the fall of Communism - the fate of the West has always been inextricably linked to the East.

Could’ve been shorter. History was great. It seemed to switch tone slightly once it went past WW2. Overall a great book that demonstrates how truly most economic activity for the last 2000 years has focused around the Middle and Far East.

Historia
Science is humanity's greatest achievement. It ranges from the study of the universe itself to the smallest particles of matter contained within it - and everything in between. If you want to better understand our physical world, as most of us do, gaining a basic understanding of science itself is profoundly important - yet many are intimidated by the breathtaking scope of such an endeavor. Now an award-winning science teacher has taken out the intimidation, harnessing that breathtaking scope into a series of 60 exciting, comprehensive, and accessible lectures.

Great overview of science with a little preachiness at the end.
Revisado: 05-10-17
Overall this course was great even after being recorded 15 years ago. It gives such a foundation of all the different departments of science. I think he got a little preachy at the end by discussing Darwin and evolution so I rushed through the last 5 (of 60!) lectures because he started presenting facts with opinions more than just facts like during the first 55 lectures. Overall I really enjoyed the content.
