Great Novella!

If you could sum up Their Solitary Way in three words, what would they be?

Clear your schedule, because you have no idea what you're getting into with this novella. Yes, as a novella, it is short. Won't take you more than a day to breeze through this book. And what a great way to spend a day. Seriously, you'll be glad you cleared your schedule. I was. And now I'm exhausted and enthralled and a bunch of other emotions that shouldn't exist at once in my being. That is the magic that is J.N. Chaney. He's a genius at storytelling. In this installment, I was again reminded that he doesn't just tell a story, but puts you, the reader, into it.

What did you love best about Hope Everlasting?

This book had me close to tears and also flinching from the action scenes. Chaney has stepped up his game in this third installment in the series. The depth of the characters continues to increase, creating a stronger emotional tie for the reader. And I dare say that the writing is even more poetic. Here's my favorite part below. It makes a beautiful commentary on our history and currently reality our own world.

"No one wins (with war) in the end," he said simply. "Even after the bodies are stacked, and the dust is settled and the rubble cleared...even when you've wiped it all away, you've still got blood on your hands, and half the world's still dead...and then it comes again."

What did you love best about Henchgirl?

This book came to me at exactly the right moment. This is a fast paced, imaginative world full of so many great characters. There are times in your life when you just need something to sweep you off your feet and this did that for me. I truly got pulled into Dakota's world and have felt a little book drunk ever since. This book didn't take the turns that I thought it would. And I would also say it's not the same throw up of some paranormal darkness that we're all used to. This one is uniquely different. Thank. You. God. I'm so tired of the same paranormal plot done over and over again with the same characters. Okay, I'll get off this soggy soap box now. Anyway, I really felt captivated by this read. It pulled me and gave me a new take on dragon-blooded humans. I could tell the author had done her homework and researched this greatly. A wonderful start to a great series. I recommend.
And the narrator also did a fantastic job. She told the story instead of getting in its way. She did a fantastic job with the characters. You'll enjoy.

The audible book was gifted to me in exchange for a review.

This book really starts off grabbing the reader. I found the storyteller's voice, Liv, to be compelling. She has a way of dropping in parts of her story without inundating the readers. The set up is great and then when you think everything is going to be honky-dory, it all takes off.

A+ for a unique storyline, set apart from the typical. And also, I loved the pacing of this book. It kept me busy while I worked out, which a huge thank you to the reader. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great dystopian/fantasy novel. Although keep in mind that it is really dark at times.
Really looking forward to second installment.
