Historia
Boston, 1846. Eighteen-year-old Mildred Parish, a barber's daughter, practices practical witchcraft using locks of hair obtained from her father's customers. She's very selective about who knows her secret and the kinds of spells she casts. Only people she trusts can know, and she must never cast a spell to harm another person. One of her father's clients is Theodore O'Brian, an Irish immigrant whose family is fortunate enough to be wealthy. Mildred is head over heels in love with him, but he's destined to be with someone else.

Historical fiction drama
Revisado: 10-13-20
I quite enjoyed this historical drama. The story revolves around an 18 year old girl who secretly practices practical magic, The plot also draws other characters into the story in the form of neighbours and friends. All are well drawn out and face their own problems.
I thought the world building was good, the plot reached a reasonable conclusion, and the narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the story and characters to life.
Worth a listen.

Good listen
Revisado: 10-03-20
This is the first book I've listened to by this author and I'm glad I purchased the audiobook. The story isn't the greatest mystery in the world, but the characters are well developed and relatable. I thought the narrator did an excellent job. The only thing that irked me a little while listening, was the occasional repetitive use of "he said/they said/she said" ending sentences. Well worth a listen.

Death and violence do not exist in Axiom. There is no strife, no war, no suffering. There is no hunger, no sadness, and no pain. Axiom is a place of perfection. But, at what cost? In Axiom, mankind has willingly submitted itself to one man - the Lord Protector - who controls the destiny of every human being. Emotions have become outlawed. Relationships are forbidden. Any sign of the disease is treated with hostility.

Interesting Storyline
Revisado: 09-30-20
This audiobook has some interesting concepts and a cast of characters have their point of view told during the plot, which moved along at a good pace. I didn't particularly care for any of the characters in this book, but that didn't deter me from following along with the ever changing events. Worth a listen if you like Utopian/dystopian themed stories.

I played all those cool video games. I watched all those movies. I even read the books. In most of 'em, the hero shoots the bad guys, drives a sweet car, never gets hungry, and always seems to get laid by the end. Yeah. Whatever. I gotta be straight with you about why I wrote this journal, and it comes down to one thing, the apocalypse kinda sucks. It doesn’t meet my expectations at all.

entertaining listen
Revisado: 10-27-19
This is the story of one man emerging from his survival bunker after two years underground after a virus turns people crazy. He's not your usual gung-ho type of character, so is more relatable to the average person. The thing about Dusty, is that he is lonely, so he goes in search of other survivor. There are still dangers above ground and the threat of something happening keeps the story interesting. I thought the story and character was quite good and the narration worked well. I did think though, that the ending was a bit abrupt.

This story starts after a virus has ravaged the world. It follows the lives of a few different people, but that aspect is done is separate chapters, so it is not confusing. I didn't really feel connected to a couple of the characters, however, they did drive the story forward and I was entertained enough to keep listening. The writing seemed good and I didn't find any major plot holes. The narrator's style did take some getting used to.

Good Mystery
Revisado: 07-03-19
This story follows the life of a woman who's ten-year-old daughter went missing. It deals with her grief and the constant wondering of "what happened", then one day she discovers a clue. Following on from that, the mystery starts to bear answers. I thought the characters, writing and world building were good. I also think the narration and production are well done.

This is an alternative telling of the myth surrounding Guinevere and the realm of King Arthur. I found the story and characters to be very entertaining and thoroughly enjoyed a different take on this well known story. Started and finished this audiobook on the same day. I also thought the narration and production were good. Recommended. I was given a copy of this audiobook for an honest and unbiased review.

Revisado: 06-25-19
Having already listened to another book in this series, and having enjoyed the story, (Silicon Dawn) I was looking forward to re-entering the Silicon world. I wasn't disappointed. This instalment has different characters but they are interesting and well written. I liked the world building and the plot and twists kept my interest. I felt the narration and production were very well done. I was given a copy of this audiobook for an honest and unbiased review. I would recommend this series.

Cyberpunk sci-fi
Revisado: 06-25-19
This is an entertaining instalment in a great cyberpunk sci-fi series. The story in this book takes place 10 years before the listed 1st book, but it doesn't matter if you listen to this one first as it has different characters. I liked the characters and the world building was good. The plot moved along at a good pace. The narration and production were very well done.

Good Story
Revisado: 06-22-19
I found this audiobook to be entertaining. Plenty of mystery and twists. I liked the main character and found her believable. The world building was fine too, as was the writing. It took me a little time to get used to the narrator's accent, but once I did, I found she suited the story. If you like psychological thrillers, then this might be a good one for you. I was given a review copy of this audiobook and have provided my honest opinion.
