Historia
In poyums, Len Pennie has created a collection that is as approachable as it is affecting; whether she's writing letters to her younger self, advocating for women's rights or adapting fairy tales to process an abusive relationship, Len's voice is bold, unashamedly frank and unmistakeably hers. She consciously fuses Scots into her poetry, cleverly ensuring that it is accessible to speakers of both languages.

A beautiful, passionate reading (telling) of a Scotswoman’s Poetry.
Revisado: 04-10-24
The remarkable cadence of her vibrant brogue, fearless language, and deep emotional presence brings the poetry straight to the heart and mind. Emotionally very powerful. I shall try to patiently wait for the next book. In the interim I shall replay this reading many times.

Historia
In one of his most enlightening works, C. S. Lewis shares his ruminations on both the form and the meaning of selected psalms. In the introduction he explains, "I write for the unlearned about things in which I am unlearned myself." Consequently, he takes on a tone of thoughtful collegiality as he writes on one of the Bible's most elusive books.

Historia
Once in a generation, a historian will redefine his field, producing a book that demands to be read or heard - a product of electrifying scholarship conveyed with commanding skill. Diarmaid MacCulloch's Christianity is such a book. Breathtaking in ambition, it ranges back to the origins of the Hebrew Bible and covers the world, following the three main strands of the Christian faith.

Lengthy and fairly thorough history
Revisado: 07-27-22
Well written and fascinating study of the Religion that quickly covered the globe. MacCulloch has his opinions And isn’t real subtle about it. But this only detracts a little from the overall scholarship.

The silenced voice of a poetic genius
Revisado: 07-27-22
I found nothing to dislike, can we change the cadence and voice perfectly matched the beauty of her poetry. I could identify with almost all of it.
