So Anne Rice has been Catholic, Atheist, Catholic, now she's obviously atheist again. When she wrote The Vampire Lestat, which is one of my favorite books, I believe she was atheist then. But in this latest installment she actually tore Christianity apart. Why do that?
But beside that, I did not care for the alien story line. It was very repetitive and vampires that we've all grown to love, were whiny, political and indecisive and really not a big part of the book. This is the last Anne Rice book I will ever read.
Simon Vance did an excellent job as always.

What would have made The Mists of Avalon better?
Could have uplifted at least one of the main woman characters.
We're these women happy? No
After these women made major life changing decisions were they finally happy? No
What was the main cause of their unhappiness or who did they take their unhappiness out on? Other women.
Has The Mists of Avalon turned you off from other books in this genre?
No but I will not read anything else by this author.
Any additional comments?
At least my money will go to Save the Children as the publisher has stated all sales from 2014 forward will.

Save your credit. Davina Porter does an excellent job but the material is whiny and depressing.

Yes, There are insights that you don't get elsewhere, but you will not get the appendix's with the audible version
