Historia
Ehd's a caveman living on his own in a harsh wilderness. He's strong and intelligent but completely alone. When he finds a beautiful, young woman in his pit trap, it's obvious to him that she is meant to be his mate. Elizabeth doesn't know where she is or exactly how she got there. She's not at all interested in Ehd's primitive advances, and she just can't seem to get him to listen. No matter what she tries, getting her point across to this primitive but beautiful man is a constant - and often hilarious - struggle.

Impressed!
Revisado: 09-22-24
Just WOW! This was such a great listen! Eleven hours and I just didn't want to stop. The story draws you in right away and takes you through an unforgettable love story. I've listened to time-travel romance, but this is a unique experience. Told completely from the caveman's perspective, the doubts and questions he had trying to understand her moods and noises! It was both laugh out loud funny and deeply moving (yes crying happened). The author did an amazing job showing the basic human need for love, The narration was perfect! Highly recommend taking the time to listen.

Historia
Helene Wecker's dazzling debut novel tells the story of two supernatural creatures who appear mysteriously in 1899 New York. Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life by a strange man who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic. When her master dies at sea on the voyage from Poland, she is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York Harbor. Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire, born in the ancient Syrian Desert. Trapped in an old copper flask by a Bedouin wizard centuries ago, he is released accidentally by a tinsmith in a Lower Manhattan shop.

Great Sequel
Revisado: 01-14-23
This story uses the characters from the first book weaving around a new story line. I felt the performance was not as good as the first book, but still very enjoyable.
