Historia
Israel and Palestine: The Complete History seeks to explain the overall story of Israeli and Palestinian tensions and divisions in the region. Indeed, without properly understanding the full history of the area, it is impossible to understand the current situation. In this book, author Ian Carroll takes the listener back to the very beginning of the conflict some 4,000 years ago, then moves through the major events of the Middle Ages and 20th century, and brings us right up to the present day, documenting the significant events that have happened along the way.

Great description about the conflict of the two nations
Revisado: 12-31-23
I found the book to be very informative about the issue of the two nations. The initial origins of the two nations was for me the most important aspect to understand. Upon understanding the origins, every sequential action by each nation became very easy to understand. I find this book very useful in learning how today’s problems came to be, and I recommend everyone in the western part of the world to read this book if you want to learn more.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Bold - brave - one of a kind individual
Revisado: 09-17-23
I’m so happy I got my hands in this book, we live in a society where we have to place parents on a pedestal and she’s the first person who’s willing to challenge the status quo. We live in a imperfect world and every family is not a hallmark movie, so there’s nothing wrong in acknowledging positive feedback to bad parents. This book really hit home for me, so this book resonated well for me. Hopefully she’ll inspire more people to do the same.

Banana combines a pop-science journey around the globe, a fascinating tale of an iconic American business enterprise, and a look into the alternately tragic and hilarious banana subculture (one does exist) - ultimately taking us to the high-tech labs where new bananas are literally being built in test tubes, in a race to save the world's most beloved fruit.

It’s a great and upsetting book
Revisado: 09-17-23
It’s a great read and understand why this single fruit can be such a polarizing topic. It’s an overall great product, and the author details eloquently the set of actions done by the banana corporations, I had seldom knowledge about the actions done, but the feelings today feel so upsetting, and see them now as acts of corruption. Who know what happens next to the banana if the fruit will continue in the coming decades.

Historia
God Save Texas is a journey through the most controversial state in America. It is a red state, but the cities are blue and among the most diverse in the nation. Oil is still king, but Texas now leads California in technology exports. Low taxes and minimal regulation has produced extraordinary growth, but also striking income disparities. Texas looks a lot like the America that Donald Trump wants to create. Texas native Lawrence Wright gives us a colorful, wide-ranging portrait of a state that not only reflects our country as it is, but as it may become.

Great book about the Texas culture
Revisado: 09-17-23
I’m so glad to have read this book and learn more about Texas. As someone who did spend a few years living in Dallas, the author eloquently detailed on why Texas can be the best and worst place to live in. Learning about the state’s origins was great. He provided great details about the state’s history, context about Texas urban cities and rural areas, and the current political scenes before and now.
I wish I had this book prior to settling there, because most of the content provided in the book is true.

Easy book to listen
Revisado: 09-08-23
As a person of color, I relate to the many stories shared in this book. Working in an engineering field dominated by white men in their upper half of their lives is not easy. Many actions done towards me are simple acts of resistance of the status quo. Having a book like this one, and shared in my industry is necessary, the chances of change are a long shot, but the opportunity needs to be done today.

Historia
Most Americans work too long and too hard, while others lack consistency in their hours and schedules. Work hours declined for a century through hard-fought labor-movement victories, but they've increased significantly since the '70s. Worked Over traces the varied reasons why our lives became tethered to a new rhythm of work and describes how we might gain a greater say over our labor time - and build a more just society in the process.

This book provided a great knowledge about what our society should look for when pursuing a job that best fulfills our desired needs. We’ve given way to much freedom to corporations when all the main goal is money. Our society needs to have a book like this one in order to retake out daily lives back and have a financially stable life.
