Buy these books. Good, old fashioned story telling. However, parents or those in loco parentis, should make the call in regard to the very casual use of sex, alcohol and drug use, swearing and violence.

Personally, I never wanted the story to end. I would characterize the book as dark comedy. Mort was my favorite character, closely followed by Brad. Read it and you will see why. Taking a long stretch, one might characterize it as a collection of dark, futuristic Horatio Alger stories.

My ONLY negative comment: the Narrator consistently pronouncing the word "library " as "LIBERRY"! I did not count but it seemed as though it occurred over 100 times. Otherwise, I found the narrator at the top of his class.

As far as the author, I found the story so enjoyable that I want to read everything J. S. Morin has written!

Told from the Marines' point of view, a great mix of War Story but takes place in the 23rd C.

It is so enjoyable to listen to my favorite books how they were written by the author.

Movie representations of books are great. I love all of the different TV and Film adaptations of "The 4:50 from Paddington ". I know of at least three. However, Agatha Christie only wrote it one way and there is something real about hearing her words, not a screenwriter 's, telling her story.

Of course there is always the added value of being able to listen while doing other tasks or chores while you listen.

Would have been all 5s if it weren't for the editors passing the pronounceiation of monsour porro as em porro. it was very annoying and I wouldn't have bought it if I had known!
