Incredibly enlightening

I will definitely be listening a few more times. This book is an incredibly enlightening work. It would seem at times he is "chasing rabbits" but he always circles back with the story emphasizing the point. It kept my attention throughout and was eye opening in many respects.

Shallow

This book is great for anyone with a shallow understanding of scripture and a smoldering dislike of "western" culture. The thoughts put forward are a mixture of cherry picked scripture taken out of the context of the entire scripture, mixed with questionable references, social science, personal opinion and pop psychology. Honestly I didn't get past chapter 2 and I only listened that long to give this book a chance. I grew up in the South, I have been a Christian most of my life, and I have a moderate knowledge of the Bible, Biblical history, and various cultures. My experiences with "western" Christian beliefs and teachings have been very different from the Authors. As the narrator reads in his smarmy voice you can close your eyes and almost hear the serpent ask Eve, "Did God actually say........" But like this book, it's just an opinion.
