while I get that this is RPG lit, there are a few small things in the performance that simply couldn't get into. While I had no problem with the pick a quest style storytelling, nor did I have too much trouble with the audible prompts indicating that somebody had done something to trigger an event.

The part that bothered me was reading off a player character stat sheet at the beginning of every chapter. If that had been summarized this would have been a perfect experience. perhaps instead of having the entire character sheet read off, you could indicate a simple comment indicating that the character grew by adding experience for strength intelligence blah blah blah. the entire staff roll could have been reduced to maybe 10 seconds instead of 2 minutes.

I will say that the narrator is a very talented and excellent narrator, and the storyline itself is fantastic. I would encourage the author and audible to consider revising each chapter start as I mentioned, so that it turns off fewer people like myself. You could possibly offer it in two formats one with and one without the prompts.

When Stephen Donaldson put pen-to-paper, or pecks at his keyboard, I will stand until he is done. Any opportunity to watch his mastery with words is a joy. Any opportunity to enter his worlds so vividly imagined is a welcome Escape.

I look forward to delving deeper into this world, and hope for a satisfyingly rich trip into the unknown. You would be wise to join me if you enjoy a yarn of excitement and character.

If a CEO needs to know this...

Then I will eat my hat. This topic is important, but this was hardly written in a way that makes sense to me. I mean what does a CEO need to know about Chrome Extensions? That there are important security topics to consider as a CEO is true, that you will gain any of those insights in this read is a fantasy.

This book tries to explain technical details, but if I were a CEO, I would want to understand how security will affect my business. Not get a blow by blow explanation of various terms related to security. Especially when simply looking it up on Wikipedia would have been more informative.

I also had to laugh as the narrator spelled out PWNED. Not knowing how it is pronounced is embarrassing for something that is supposed to be an authoritative read.

Not so Anonymous Review

Just finished listening to this audio book. I found it a well written, fast paced and exciting read. While I haven't been involved in this specific area in my career, this book helped me connect the dots about much that has happened in the news over the past few years.

Those of you here in this group that are deeply entrenched in this space may be well informed. If you are new to this area, this book is an excellent and gripping primer on what is relevant about hacking and the many breaches published over the past few years.

I very much recommend this as an excellent listen!

If you are no hacker, but would like to feel a bit of the excitement and speed of how this whole world works, I suggest listening to it at 3X speed...

Great companion to the "Smartest 401K Book...)

Excellent resource. Only thing I came away in this one with that is disconcerting is that there is little in the way of direct advice on what to invest in. However, the extrication strategies seem sound.

Smart for sure, but is it up to date?

This was an excellent listen, along with it's companion "The Smartest IRA Book You'll Ever Read". Very insightful, if you shuffle your 401K allocations to match with the recommendations about varios index funds, you will have achieved an instant ROI with this book.

Radio Drama's Beat Audio Books!

I have read all these stories, but because they were produced with influence of the author, but with dramatic license, the stories came alive! Since driving and texting, or watching videos is not viable, I don't understand why more radio drama doesn't exist. This is enjoyable and such a great set of stories by the Grand Master.
