Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Intense…riveting….funny….
Revisado: 05-09-22
At the beginning of this book, I found myself laughing uncontrollably as I heard about Trevor’s early days. I went through a series of emotions as I listened to more. He took me to where he was and I felt like I was there with him. Beautiful story teller. Loved the audio book.

A transformational and Christ centered guide to overcome emotional weight and eating bondage for good
Revisado: 12-11-19
In the “The Chubby Church: A Call to Break Free of Weight and Eating Bondage” Jendayi Harris, in an uncompromising spiritual approach, gets to the root of how emotional experiences impact our weight and eating and keeps us in ongoing bondage. She introduces concepts like Chubbology, Grubbology & Emotional Fitness. She utilizes biblical scriptures, personal experiences, and the experiences of others to bring it all together.
The prayers and exercises at the end of each chapter were instrumental in taking action to make long lasting change. While this is a very serious book, I found humor throughout with Jendayi’s delivery.
I recommend this book to any anyone, especially Christians, who find themselves in a continuous weight and eating battle and truly have a desire to overcome and live the life that they are destined for.

Historia
By the time he was 27 years old, Kwame Onwuachi had opened - and closed - one of the most talked-about restaurants in America. He had launched his own catering company with $20,000 that he made from selling candy on the subway, yet he’d been told he would never make it on television because his cooking wasn’t “Southern” enough. In this inspiring memoir about the intersection of race, fame, and food, he shares the remarkable story of his culinary coming-of-age.

Beautiful stories....Experienced many emotions
Revisado: 09-14-19
I met someone at a party I catered from Brooklyn a couple of weeks ago. She mentioned the book and suggested that I read it. Being so busy I decided to try the audible book.
Being a native of NOLA, listening to the beginning and the discussion of the food I knew brought me comfort and interest.
I experienced so many emotions though out. I experienced , sadness, joy, disgust and amusement . There were times while in my car, I experienced uncontrollable laughter. Kwame’s story telling was vivid and edgy. I felt drawn in and right there in the chapter.
I am so looking forward to knowing what ‘s next with Kwame and wish him all the happiness he desires.
God bless
