Historia
Danny Cartwright and Spencer Craig never should have met. One evening, Danny, an East End cockney who works as a garage mechanic, takes his fianceé up to the West End to celebrate their engagement. He crosses the path of Spencer Craig, a West End barrister posed to be the youngest Queen's Counsel of his generation. A few hours later Danny is arrested for murder and later is sentenced to twenty-two years in prison, thanks to irrefutable testimony from Spencer, the prosecution's main witness.

Riveting plot, didn't want to stop listening
Revisado: 07-19-09
I absolutely LOVED this book. I couldn't stop listening! The story is so interesting and so well told. The narrator did an excellent job with the various different accents. Knowing that Archer spent time in prison gives the book even more credibility. Highly recommended!

Worst book ever
Revisado: 05-31-09
I have read so many audiobooks in the last years and even though I didn't always like them, I was always able to finish. Not with this one! I barely got through the first hour. There is no plot, the intonation of the reader is annoying (mimicking a Southern accent) and it just dragged on.

Historia
When he is four years old, Jack travels with his mother Alice, a tattoo artist, to several North Sea ports in search of his father, William Burns. From Copenhagen to Amsterdam, William, a brilliant church organist and profligate womanizer, is always a step ahead–has always just departed in a wave of scandal, with a new tattoo somewhere on his body from a local master or “scratcher.”

Great story, annoyingly read
Revisado: 04-30-06
If you like John Irving, you'll enjoy this book. It is a very complex and long story (32 hours!) with lots of interesting characters and unexpected turns. The plot was captivating albeit a little disturbing at times (the child abuse story line is not for the faint of heart). The only thing I really didn't like was the narrator: his multiple accents were at the best annoying, in some places downright ridiculous or wrong - his German pronounciation was actually painful for a first-language German like me. He should have asked somebody to guide him who knows the language.

Historia
In the summer of 1969, a disillusioned Berkeley graduate leaves behind a world of protests and riots to follow a wild, inner calling. Sam Altman is an intense young man with an animal energy whose unleashed and increasingly unhinged imagination takes him first to Seattle and then farther north, to the remote Alaskan wilderness.

Disturbing and boring
Revisado: 04-02-06
This was the worst Audiobook I ever listened to. The book moved between being terribly boring and dragging - describing in great the mountain, animals and general surrounding, and being disturbing and depressing when the 'Ram' was talking in his strange tone and nonsensical words. I suffered through the entire book as I was still hoping for a change for the better, but it never happened. The end was abrupt and bizarre and didn't really close anything. I regret having spent 11 hours listening to this.
