This is a super series. Very fast paced and has lots of different aspects that make it good. Avery Nolan is the main character and she is so likeable. Just an ordinary girl who falls into a very extraordinary situation - and then you really start to find out about her life and past. There's a lot of romance to this fantasy series but also suspense and adventure and humor and silliness. There's a very important dog, which I like a lot. I got Book 1 and 2 at the same time and I practically listened straight through. I'm looking forward to hearing more.

FABULOUS

Avery Nolan is a fantastic hero. I love her and her relationships with her students. I love how scared she can feel and yet how brave she is when the time comes. This is a great second book and I can't wait for the next. This series feels like a TV show - episode to episode - you really look forward to the next week's installment. The romance is really touching. The kids are hilarious and so are the aunts. The mystery of Avery's mother's past is really heartfelt. POSSIBLE SPOILER: And I love the fantasy of the other place. This is also a really really funny series. Summer listening, you bet!

CHARMING & CHALLENGING

I loved this audiobook. It's thoughtful science fiction - not Armagegddon with guns and knives. It's more subtle than that. This tale captures a specific & realistic...possible... idea of 'what if?'. The author seems to have looked around at the trends of our society and then projected them into the future. If dogs are 'accessories' now, well this idea/plot gives them the respect they deserve. There's some interesting futuristic tech. That's not necessarily this story's bread and butter. But in ethics, it dominates. I don't think everything has to be hardcore. It's a great story.

AN AMAZING SERIES CONTINUES

If you have been following the series you won't believe what happens. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you are starting here - and trust me on this because I've introduced about a million friends to Peyton Brooks - you will still be able to thoroughly enjoy this book and then go back or forward to listen to more. What makes it work are consistent well thought out characters,storylines that encourage you to guess and get involved. And heart. This series just has so much heart. And humor. It's addictive!

MY FAVORITE OF THE SERIES

I really loved this book. They are all written with the characters doing all the taking, all the narration. I really identified with Lynne, a psychologist and therapist, estranged from her selfish family, really trying to make her way and establish her own sense of self. When fate gives her the opportunity to right a horrible wrong forced on her by her family her whole world starts to open up. Tyson has been going through real self destruction, running away from the pain of love gone wrong. His friends (see RIDDICK Book One and JUDE Book Two) are there to support him and you really get to see them work as a team as Tyson is stalked while he tries to put his life back together. Like RIDDICK and JUDE there is a real twist at the end to the crime/thriller aspect that comes kind of out of nowhere. It's a great cap to the three books although works all by itself. It's written for mature audiences but is probably the tamest of the three. You can really imagine this family of people. I like them. I'm happy for them.

GREAT NUMBER TWO IN SERIES

I really like this guy. Jude is playful and he loves women. And he really loves this woman. He's a computer geek inn a GQ body and his sense of humor is pretty funny. This book is unusual - it starts with Vanessa in the hospital (see RIDDICK, Book One) knowing Jude is watching her as she sleeps. She thinks they've had a devastating one night stand. He has a completely different idea. The suspense is killing and is a wonderful parallel to the romance. It's an adult title and I loved it.

THE HITS JUST KEEP ON COMIN'

This is a super series and this book is no exception. There is a philosophical search underlying this particular mystery. The twists and turns span countries and the bad guys are tough to hate when it all comes to an end. This novel is unique in the series in that it focuses more on the dynamics of the Ghost Squad which is really cool. Part of what is so great about the first series, The Peyton Brooks Mysteries, is the relationship among the San Fran detective & police squad. Definitely recommend.

I loved this book. I loved the characters. I loved the world the writer created. I loved how funny it was. I loved the way people cared about each other. I could picture all the different beings as they appeared on the other world. I loved the premonitions that lead to the reality. I loved how D'laine discovered her powers. I loved how she learned about where she was and the beings that helped her adapt. The bad guys were gnarly. The kingdom was really cool. I really loved how you can feel the rest of hte story building but not quite see where it is going to go.I loved the crazy scientists. I had a lot of fun listening to this book and just going on the ride.

TERRIFIC, GREAT NUMBER TWO TO SERIES

The DIY refers to the web series started in Book One A BUILDING PASSION. I loved that book and I enjoyed this one just as much if not more. I haven't read that many books set in Svannah, GA so the location is fun and also the characters travel around a lot to different locales which gave the story a sweeping quality that added to the romance and excitement. Jack and Marly are enemies at first - you can sense the friction /attraction - and that always makes for a fun romance. This is not your run of hte mill romance - it feels different, fresh not heavy but not any less important in terms of what is at stake for the people in the story. Marly is an ex beauty queen who auditions to be the sidekick on a new DIY show. Jack in the producer who needs a win. Each has a history that gets in the way of what they want. I loved it! I am looking forward to book 3.

LA, BABY!

I loved this story! I'm glad Peyton and Marco are moving forward with where they are. I was really into the mystery and how it wound around with all the moving parts. It's fun to see all the characters in different roles. We see a different side of a lot of the regulars. It's really funny, too. I think that might be what I like best about this series. The mysteries are really solid but there is so much more then just that - in the relationships and the writing.
