it's not often times that I give any book a one-star review across the board, but in this case it's a well-deserved one star. throughout the book series there has been one hurdle after another The main character would have to overcome. but for some reason the author decided in this one that they would just sh** on The main character as much as possible, I also have not stop listening to a book series for any other reason other than the series ending, u till this book. good job a** hat, the book is terrible and I hope you get persistent hemroids that never heal.

It's ebon!!! not E-bon!!!!

so first it's a pretty decent story, it hops around a lot to multiple view points and kinda makes sense why, but the author didn't do the best at making sure you understand the start and end of view points. but all that can be forgiven for the most part, but what I can't forgive and pisses me off the most is the narrator, one of the biggest issues I have is his mispronunciation of words like ebon (short, read ebony as in black) and he does it every time!!!!

what gnomes?

so I spend a lot of time liste ing to books, I drive for work, and listen even while working. so most of my 8 hour work day I'm listening.
admittedly I'm leaving this review only having listened to the first book... but I'm confused, as of chapter 4 book two (less then half way through the chapter.) there have been 2 different references to gnomes, one of which was them giving the mc a new spear... but my question is, what gnomes? like did I stroke out and not hear the part about them helping some gnomes? am I just crazy? or was there no gnomes too begin with? am... am I the gnome?

another reference to the gnomes, I went back and listens to the end of the first book and the first couple chapters of the second and I still have no idea what gnomes they are referring too. though the voice has mentioned that they are the "faildale gnomes" (typed out phonetically). I find no significance in the name, other then maybe the voice is calling me a small failure? not sure, I feel madness creeping in.

do you like repetition?

if you like listening to the same thing three to seven times in a row every 5 to 10 minutes this is a book for you, however if you don't like repetition, poor storytelling, or bad grammar. then maybe skip this one.

inconsistencies and adjectives

overall so far it's been a good book series, but I am starting to get tired of the "my men" and other repetitive adjectives. as of chapter 2, Rory has now mentioned a magic sword and magic axe, where as of the last book she only had a magic dagger, no further explanation was given as to how she had these new magical items. and yes she creates them with her magic but still it's annoying.

thrilling adventure

from start to end arise. has kept me on the edge of my seat, I can't wait to see what the next book in the serious has in store.
