Historia
In The Lost Family, journalist Libby Copeland investigates what happens when we embark on a vast social experiment with little understanding of the ramifications. Copeland explores the culture of genealogy buffs, the science of DNA, and the business of companies like Ancestry and 23andMe, all while tracing the story of one woman, her unusual results, and a relentless methodical drive for answers that becomes a thoroughly modern genetic detective story.

Outstanding
Revisado: 12-15-21
Other than the part where the author refers to Encino Man (starring Brendan Fraser) as "a pretty crummy movie," this is a terrific book. Lots of intricate information about DNA, but explained clearly enough to follow. Interesting stories about individual families really bring to life the questions and concerns about consumer DNA without demonizing the practice. Allows the reader to think and form his or her own opinions. Highly recommend.

Historia
In the summer of 1975, the sprawling valley town of Grand Junction, Colorado, is stunned by the grisly double murders of 24-year-old Linda Benson and her baby daughter Kelley. For Jim Fromm and Doug Rushing, the two young detectives assigned to the case, the investigation is a chance to earn their stripes and prove their mettle. At first, Fromm and Rushing peg the woman's mercurial husband, a pipe-fitter who works outside of town, as the primary suspect.

Adequate

Interesting story, not bad narration, sometimes jumps around confusingly. For a more visual person it might be better as a physical book. Overall - adequate.
