Historia
In The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, Amy mines her past for stories about her teenage years, her family, relationships, and sex and shares the experiences that have shaped who she is - a woman with the courage to bare her soul to stand up for what she believes in, all while making us laugh. Down to earth and relatable, frank and unapologetic, Amy Schumer is one of us: She relies on her sister for advice, still hangs out with her high school pals, and continues to navigate the ever-changing boundaries in love, work, and life.

Grossly overrated just like her stand up
Revisado: 11-15-16
Compared to the autobiography of other comedians like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari and Mindy Kaling this fell totally flat. I barely laughed and I thought the whole thing was kind of sad and depressing. Just like her stand up, this is overrated. I should have known better than to give it a chance. Save your time and audible credit for something better.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Phenomenal!

Would you listen to Unbroken again? Why?
This book is simply superb. Through the horrible and fascinating story of one WWII survivor, the author has created a tribute to all veterans. The story is not only riveting but also educational and informative. For those of us who did not live through the war it is especially enlightening as to how terrible and heart-breaking a time it was for veterans and their families across the world.
This book is so powerfully written that it may change any preconceived notions you had about WWII, Japan's role in the war and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I had never supported Truman's decision to drop the A-bomb until I read this book. The end justified the means.

Though born into one of Seattle's most prestigious families, Margot Benedict has fought to claim all the independence offered to young women in 1923. Where her brother, Preston, embraced a life of debauchery, Margot has a thriving medical practice. Working at a local orphanage, she's shocked to see a young boy who looks every inch a Benedict. But though she's convinced this is the illegitimate child Preston once mentioned, Margot has no way to prove any family connection.

What disappointed you about Benedict Hall?
Characters were annoying, story was even more annoying. The storyline with the sapphire made no sense and came from no where.
Has Benedict Hall turned you off from other books in this genre?
is this even a genre?

One of the best audiobooks I have listened to so far. Entertaining with amazing narrator. Each character comes to life with their own voice and personality. Even if you have never read a country western book (like me), you will not be disappointed. This is story telling at its best that anyone can appreciate.
