Voiceover my ai
Revisado: 12-05-23
I purchased this because my family has read the books together and loved them.
So very very disappointing that instead of having an exciting audio book, they have tried to have it read by an ai voice. There is no emotion, and the sounds of the words are stressed at the wrong times.
I can’t believe they thought people would enjoy this.
So very disappointing.

Historia
Emerging science is showing that cholesterol levels are a poor predictor of heart disease and that standard prescriptions for lowering it, such as ineffective low-fat/high-carb diets and serious, side-effect-causing statin drugs, obscure the real causes of heart disease. Even doctors at leading institutions have been misled for years based on creative reporting of research results from pharmaceutical companies intent on supporting the $31-billion-a-year cholesterol-lowering drug industry.

Interesting view on truth behind health
Revisado: 12-05-23
The information raised is very intriguing.
The in depth analysis of the science behind the body’s need for cholesterol and the pharmaceutical push to sell medication hits the truth button a little too hard. It’s a shame how western medicine isn’t truth, but a biased pay to play industry.

Worst narration voice
Revisado: 07-23-23
I couldn’t stand this.
The performance is a mockery of the text.
The tone and sound may be better suited for an actual clown.

Historia
Reporter Sam Kean reveals the periodic table as it’s never been seen before. Not only is it one of man's crowning scientific achievements, it's also a treasure trove of stories of passion, adventure, betrayal, and obsession. The infectious tales and astounding details in The Disappearing Spoon follow carbon, neon, silicon, and gold as they play out their parts in human history, finance, mythology, war, the arts, poison, and the lives of the (frequently) mad scientists who discovered them.

History of elements explained well for beginner-advanced.
Revisado: 09-17-18
Very entertaining book that explains the history of the elements in an informative way for seasoned chemists to people with minimal science background.
Helps with the general understanding of the science behind everyday items, and the importance chemistry has in our world.
