The last part of this book really teaches
Revisado: 02-14-22
This book just kind of droned on through the first two thirds and really didn't teach or take you anywhere but the last third was phenomenal and a punch in the jaw for an awakened.
I would love to see him really dig in on thankfulness and dealing with your bitterness, or other drawbacks, trusting God with them, in a another full book.

Historia
Kyle Riggs has been away from Earth for a long time.... What’s happening back home? In Empire, the sixth book of the Star Force Series, the story moves in a new direction. Earth falls quiet, and the few reports coming out of the homeworld are increasingly strange. Isolated in the Eden system, Riggs realizes his enemies are forming an alliance against him. Crushed between two monstrous fleets, the last defenders of Star Force must forge their own alliance with the biotic aliens. But which alien race can Riggs truly trust?

This is one of the best sci fi series ever
Revisado: 05-08-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Empire to be better than the print version?
I like the audio version because I am on the move a lot at work and at home so it's easier for me to listen and it's particularly nice when you have a great performer with a good vioce. That's the case with this series.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kyle Riggs. He is the everyman. He is not a super scientist or a super spy or a super warrior. He is just an ordinary guy thrown into a meat grinder of a situation and he roe to it.
Which scene was your favorite?
I really liked the space station. The thought of actually being out there.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
In this series there were many emmorable moments. In this edition, I would have to say when he sent the trator general packing and destroyed his satalites.
Any additional comments?
I hope there are many more books to come for this series, aditionally I hope the Larson comes out with more scifi like this.

Historia
Kyle Riggs is snatched by an alien spacecraft sometime after midnight. The ship is testing everyone it catches and murdering the weak. The good news is that Kyle keeps passing tests and staying alive. The bad news is the aliens who sent this ship are the nicest ones out there.

I was suprised at how much I would luv this series
Revisado: 12-22-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this to everyone. I purchased the print copies for my sons and the audio for me. I love this book. Since they do not have the other editions in print (except for the first two) I now have them all on kindle and audible and I hope this series keeps going for years yet. It is so down to earth...
What did you like best about this story?
I love the main charactor who is in every respect the 'everyman' who, rather than panicing or sinking to baser emotions, uses his common sense and basic logic to adapt and use what's available to him to overcome his circumstnce. BRILLIANT!!!
Which character – as performed by Mark Boyett – was your favorite?
I like the main charactor exspecially how he is portrayed by Boyett. He hits him right on the head. I like the way he portrays all of the chractors and how he makes the main charactor thoughtful and three diminsional.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The story kept moving and did not stagnate. I loved the creation of the marine and the base cam.
Any additional comments?
This entire series is well worth the listen. If you like military sci-fi then you will LOVE THE STAR FORCE SERIES!!!!

mediorcer story terrible choice for narrator
Revisado: 08-10-11
The story was decent. far from great, barely reaching the level of good. The narrator had a great voice and performed older male voices well, and the prospector too, but every time he did the antagonist he was mimicking snidley whiplash. I could see him twirling his mustache. He absolutely sucked at British accents and some of the characters were English. Argggh! and to add insult to injury the author is interviewed at the end and pats himself on the back excessively, as well as pushing his personal views and condemning those who don't agree with his little view of the word. all in all a nearly sad experience. The only saving grace? The story was decent enough. nice twist on the dino DNA theme.
