Historia
The decision has been made. Jessie has taken the magic and all the weird that goes with it. Including wings. There's only one problem - she can't figure out how to access them. Through a series of terrible decisions, Jessie realizes she must ask for help. Gargoyle help. But she could've never predicted who answers her call - he's an excellent flier, incredibly patient, and a good trainer. He's also incredibly handsome. And interested.

A Delight
Revisado: 11-06-24
I am partying my way through this series and I am delighted by each twist and turn. I feel like I am with the characters, each unique but still clearly members of the same team. I like that the main character isn't the teen/20something heroine that we can get elsewhere. I like that the take on magic is a little different. I especially enjoy the dialogue between characters. I sped up the listening speed because my brain needs that but I also feel like it has made the dialogue snappier, which is a good time. Feels very Lorelei Gilmore. Anyways, it's been a delight to read these and I will be purchasing the next one as soon as I finish this review.

Historia
All sorcerers are evil. Elisabeth has known that as long as she has known anything. Raised as a foundling in one of Austermeer’s Great Libraries, Elisabeth has grown up among the tools of sorcery - magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains. If provoked, they transform into grotesque monsters of ink and leather. She hopes to become a warden, charged with protecting the kingdom from their power. Then an act of sabotage releases the library’s most dangerous grimoire.

Sassy love interest, magic, a book lovin' heroine
Revisado: 11-02-24
This story did my favorite thing of making it feel like a couple of books wrapped up in one. You get to spend a lot of time with the characters and get to know them. No one character is all good or all bad, there is intrigue, and romance, and magic. I really enjoyed the imagery and the world building, it took me away. I liked the world of the libraries and the personalities of the grimoires. Enemies to lovers vibe, but it's soft on the enemies.

Historia
On Halloween, it is always wise to expect the unexpected, but no amount of planning could have prepared Eve for that particular night. Fleeing an unpleasant orphanage, she’s saved by someone who she never believed was real…the fabled Pumpkin King himself. Throwing caution aside, Eve accepts the offer to become his daughter and is whisked away to the misty Hallowell Valley—home to witches and vampires, ghosts and goblins, and all that go bump in the night. But just when she believes she’s found her place among the undead, a sinister scheme unearths itself.

A comfy listen with spooky, family friendly vibes
Revisado: 11-02-24
Think Anne of Green Gables meets Nightmare Before Christmas meets DCOM (as another reviewer mentioned). It was a really lovely story with a bit of adventure and touching moments. It has comfy cozy spooky vibes, perfect for a low-key fall/Halloween feeling that you can enjoy over and over again throughout the year. Might need to make this a yearly read!
