Mark Moran needs to learn to pronounce names
Revisado: 07-13-18
This is a great synopsis of the daily news, but WHY CAN'T MARK MORAN LEARN TO PRONOUNCE NAMES? He constantly mispronounces the names of athletes, and other people in the news. This is simply unacceptable for a news reporter, which is Moran's function.

Historia
Until Donald Trump publishes the ultimate account of his entire four or eight or one and a half years in the White House, the definitive chronicle will be You Can't Spell America Without Me. Trump was elected because he was the most frank presidential candidate in history, a man eager to tell the unvarnished truth about others' flaws and tout his own amazing excellence. Now he levels his refreshingly compulsive, un-PC candor at his landslide election victory as well as his role as commander in chief and leader of the free world.

The BEST--and most frightening--book in years!!
Revisado: 02-05-17
Where does Red Notice rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
An amazing story! This is MUST READ for citizens of all countries, but is incredibly timely for those of us in the US who have elected a Putin-esque narcissist as our leader. I could not stop listening--and I found myself listening to parts again.
Who was your favorite character and why?
In telling his story, and that of Sergei Magnitsky, the author aptly conveys his own radical transformation from a financially savvy hedge-fund manager to human rights activist. Early in the story his naivete regarding his own safety in Russia can only be described as classically American. A definite wake-up call that details the power and evil of an authoritarian state.
Which scene was your favorite?
Many of the parallels that exist between Orwell's protagonist, Winston Smith, and Sergei Magnitsky cannot be ignored. As gut-wrenching and terrifying as Orwell's depiction is, the reader can take solace in the fact that Winston Smith is a fictional character. But the tragedy of Mr. Magnitsky lies in the fact that his story is not fictional--and we are left with the stark reality that thousands of other innocent individuals are paying the same price.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Just as Sergei Magnitsky's torture and tragic murder spurred Bill Browder to speak out for justice, this book serves as strong motivation to stand up against racist and misogynistic
oligarchs working to violate our constitution.

Historia
Until five years ago, Alexandra Heminsley was decidedly not a runner. Nor was she athletic in any sense of the word. She was an ordinary, curvy woman who was convinced that sports of any kind, especially running, were beyond her. But she's made running part of her life, and gets to reap the rewards: not just the obvious things, like a touch of weight loss, health and glowing skin, but self-belief, and immeasurable daily pleasure.

"Less is more" - or, more specifically, the less you have to do, the more life you have to live. Efficiency expert Ari Meisel details his "Less Doing" philosophy, which will streamline your life, and make everything easier. In business and our personal lives, it often seems as if the only way to get more done is by putting in more time - more hours at the office, more days running errands. But what if there were a way that we could do less, and free up more time for the things and people we love? If this sounds like what you need, Ari Meisel has the program for you.

Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television "family."

Historia
A highly decorated captain in the U.S. Army, Luis Montalvan never backed down from a challenge during his two tours of duty in Iraq. After returning home, however, the pressures of his physical wounds, traumatic brain injury, and post-traumatic stress disorder began to take their toll. In constant physical pain, he soon found himself unable to climb a simple flight of stairs or face a bus ride to the VA hospital. He drank; he argued; he cut himself off from those he loved. Then Luis met Tuesday, a beautiful and sensitive golden retriever....

Touching.... and Compelling! I loved it!!
Revisado: 01-04-15
Would you listen to Until Tuesday again? Why?
I'm sure I will listen again. Captain Montalvan's story conveys the very real loss of his dream--and of his physical limitations resulting from his tours of duty. But the story goes on to tell of his struggles to heal spiritually and psychologically with the help of Tuesday, who can only be described as a canine angel. I found the story riveting as Montalvan reveals his own slightly obsessive nature about his desire to serve his country and lead his men. He is equally forthright in conveying his struggles and the depth of his depression after returning home, but all the sadness of his story is balanced when Tuesday enters his life. Just as Montalvan intuitively 'knew' his role in the military, he also knew that Tuesday was his dog--and she is exactly that.
What about Luis Carlos Montalvan’s performance did you like?
I always prefer that the author read his or her own book--and this was no exception. Montalvan reads the story like no else could.
Any additional comments?
I rarely write to an author after reading his/ her book, but this was one time I did exactly that. I wanted to let Captain Montalvan know how much his story impacted me and to thank him for sharing it. And to my surprise, he wrote back the very next day! Truly an amazing man!! I would give his memoir my highest recommendation!

Historia
In 1770, the fuse of revolution is lit by a fateful command - "Fire!" - as England's peacekeeping mission ignites into the Boston Massacre. The senseless killing of civilians leads to a tumultuous trial in which lawyer John Adams must defend the very enemy who has assaulted and abused the laws he holds sacred. The taut courtroom drama soon broadens into a stunning epic of war as King George III leads a reckless and corrupt government in London toward the escalating abuse of his colonies.

The anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history - how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfill Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices are not appeased....

Historia
The rural town of Stockton, New York, is famous for nothing: No one was born there, no one died there, nothing of any historical import at all has ever happened there, which is why Solomon Kugel, like other urbanites fleeing their pasts and histories, decided to move his wife and young son there. To begin again. To start anew. But it isn't quite working out that way.

Creative, funny in a dry, and at times, even sardonic style that is so like Auslander. I enjoyed this book, but not quite as much as Foreskin's Lament.
