solid audio drama
Revisado: 07-29-23
genuinely enjoyed this a lot, i might re-listen to it with my higher quality headphones so I can appreciate the improved audio quality better.
the story is easy to follow. I liked how it bounced around between the characters. my only complaint is I wish the lines weren't so generic. the script is a little bit generic. but it's not terrible or annoying.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
One week with one little girl—an angel, according to my staffing agency. Acting as the short-term nanny for a single dad should have been an easy way to make some extra cash. Until I show up for my first day and face off with a demon disguised as a seven-year-old girl wearing a red tutu and matching glitter slippers. Oh, and her father? My temporary boss? Maddox Holiday. The same Maddox Holiday I crushed on in high school. The same Maddox Holiday who didn’t even know I existed.

for very straight people
Revisado: 12-08-22
the story is cute. the plot and stuff or whatever. it's a cheesy concept. nanny for hire who needs money to fix her car, rich guy, devil child. I'm sure you can guess what happens.
This is for straight white people for sure. Typical tall blue eyed blonde with flat stomach (yes they point that out in the book lmao) and slender legs (yes they point that out also) duck boot wearing girl. With a chiseled tall generic looking rich white guy. There's just no variety for sure.
at least they have decent narrators.
i couldn't finish this book. it was just so cringe to me.

PHENOMENAL
Revisado: 11-19-22
i didn't want to finish it, it was amazing. i wish it didn't end. If you're in your early or mid 20s and like romance and fantasy, this is for you. Vic and Adam's relationship is so cute. it seems like their relationship is going to fast but the ending assuring, they take it slow. this isn't one of those >we talk for a few conversations and we are in love< type of books. l loved everything about this book. there's so much in this series that it's really impossible to touch up on everything, but needless to say, I can see myself reading this a third time.
I WOULD LOVE the story to continue on Jodies perspective, pleaaaseee mr. author david, if you're reading this, PLEASE CONTINUE THE STORY WITH JODIE. JUST THINK ABOUT IT!! it could definitely continue with john still out there, Jodie having the tarot cards, and the entire magical realm and her not knowing anything about how to use her powers yet.

Revisado: 06-06-22
I LOVED this book so much. I could barely stop listening to it. The narration is SO SO SO FREAKING GOOD. All 4 women's voices were just so fitting to their character. I loved the story as well, of course. There is some good character development in this book. I loved seeing it from all 4 perspectives, it's hard to dislike one character when you see all sides and see everyone's feelings and perspectives and experiences towards eachother. I may just be biased because I'm crazy for books with powerful female figures and this book has four.
I'm usually listening to fantasy books. But I love thrillers when it comes to films so i figured I would give this book a chance and I did not regret nor was i let down in the slightest!

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

this is a nice story, sort of reminds me of my own relationship. the humor is very middle aged and millennial. so I didn't really laugh much because the jokes and remarks were eh to me. the narration was super great though! I enjoyed seeing both sides and knowing what the characters didn't know yet. one part was pretty cringe though. when the female character got bashful and made a groaning noise. like, huh? i didn't know it was possible to get second hand embarrassment from a book character

still hooked
Revisado: 05-29-22
I'm still loving the series, plot twists and all. the main character isn't perfect. she feels responsible and keeps pushing herself. she trusted people who she thought she could and it harmed others. I like how this was the cause of the turn in events. it made a lot of sense and really flowed together well. I'm glad the narrator was kept the same because she does an amazing job. I am confused where raven went though. I don't know If there was an explanation in her disappearance or if I just happened to miss it.

Historia
In the future, mankind has learned to manipulate their DNA, harnessing only the good genes, like intelligence, strength, and height. They called this prime DNA and humans rushed to get these new pDNA injections, which gave them superhuman-like qualities. Centuries later, however, their DNA became so engineered that humans rarely lived past the age of 30, thanks to a new deadly disease called the Kiss. The only cure is to receive an injection of oDNA, DNA from an Original human that hasn't been genetically altered. Problem is there aren't many Originals left.

best book I've read in a while
Revisado: 05-29-22
this series has its claws in me. I love the weird concept of the story, the female lead is strong, the narration is on point, it's really really well written, and the romance isnt annoying. if you see this, take a chance on this book if you enjoy genres like this. I'm the type of person who isnt afraid to stop reading a book in the 3rd chapter. btw, I'm 22 years old. the characters in are mature or else I don't think I would have enjoyed it this much. this series is full of action and I found it hard to stop listening.
