Historia
The battle with the horde of necromorphs is lost. Foreston has been overrun by Dark fiends. The foxfolk have been forced to abandon their homes and seek salvation on the far side of Narrow Lake. Its main city lost, the Order of Monster Hunters finds itself on the brink of destruction. And now deprived of their chief ally, the gnomes are left all alone to take on the army of the Steel King. Eric's attempts to halt his foe's advance have all come to naught—Alrak the Heartless and the other Dark primordials are simply too powerful.

I wish there was just a little more
Revisado: 03-14-25
I don't want to give anything away but it was a great wrap up to the story. I wish there was just a bit more, or even a spin off series. He spends so much time earning power and we don't really get a chance to see him punch down on some people that deserve it. Still very good stuff.

Historia
Eric has survived where people much stronger than him have found their deaths. And not just that: He's managed to activate his magic supply, tame one of the most dangerous dungeon monsters, find the ancient city of monster hunters, and rescue Jay, the girl abandoned by the scouts in Gulper's lair. He left the Dungeons of the Crooked Mountains behind him. Now his path leads him to Orchus, where our freshly-minted mage intends to finally free himself of his debt-repayment oath.

Stop it with the robbing
Revisado: 03-06-25
As the title says, it's not satisfying and you can't have it happen 3 times in every book, at this point it's a cheap way to try to get the listener angry. Was enjoying the books, sick of the constantly repeated mechanism. seriously, just over and over.

Progression is too Slow
Revisado: 03-05-25
I don't need an OP MC but I find it hard to get into a series when after 2 books MC has made very little progress and the best that can be said about them is that he's 'useful' to the other (universally stronger) characters around him and there's not one character in the series as weak as him.

Good but the pacing seems a bit tedious.
Revisado: 03-02-25
The story itself is quite good, maybe with some forgivable plot holes but very interesting. Unfortunately it does seem like in some parts of the book the pacing is painfully slow, and there were multiple conversations where I couldn't understand why the author was dragging the reader into them, they added nothing (looking at you metal changes when it's hot). Overall I tentatively recommend but of something doesn't change the second will likely be the last book in the series I read.

Historia
Zane was driving home from work when the world changed. Thousands of dungeons spawned at once, taking up every inch of Earth—including the road he’s driving on. He wakes up to a totaled car and a broken leg, facing down a goblin trying to spear him through the guts. And that's just the start of it. But to Zane’s surprise, he finds himself enjoying this brutal new world. While others cower and hide, he goes on the hunt. He unlocks a unique Berserker skill—the more damage he takes, the stronger he gets.

Better Than Expected
Revisado: 12-18-24
This book really does give off Defiance of the Fall vibes while still being significantly different. The fight scenes are better than most LitRPGs I've come across and there's a healthy mix of scenes challenging to the MC and satisfying scenes in which they get to flex. One thing I truly appreciate was the amount of content; I thought the book was wrapping up at one point only to discover I was only halfway through. Overall great start can't wait to begin the second book.

The author knows what he did, very disappointing. I went be reading any other series by this author. I thought his other works had religious undertones but this seals it

Rushed and Conceded
Revisado: 09-21-24
Everything is rushed, relationship development, power progression, pretty much everything. The MC is also a pompous a, but it's somewhat satisfying. Like book junk food.

Diminishing Returns
Revisado: 08-13-24
I was wondering why I hadn't heard of this book in any of my groups but I see now the author is intent on repeating the same gimmick over and over. I have some confidence they're going to do the same thing next book and if so I might be done with the author.

Book is Great, Narrator Not so Much.
Revisado: 08-11-24
The story is fantastic but the narrator reads actions action scenes in the same timber and cadence as a casual conversation. Things that should be obvious like a sudden memory are read like a run on sentence without so much as a comma or inflection to create a distinction between the two timelines. Narrator didn't deserve this gig.
