Great narration but story felt drug out. Too much set up and not enough payoff

New Fav Villian to Love to Hate
Revisado: 10-15-20
Branagh's performance takes the story to the next level. I only wish the book were longer. So much feels missing. Perhaps that was Conrad's intent?

Historia
In the grotesque bell-ringer Quasimodo, Victor Hugo created one of the most vivid characters in classic fiction. Quasimodo's doomed love for the beautiful gypsy girl Esmeralda is an example of the traditional love theme of beauty and the beast. Yet, set against the massive background of Notre Dame de Paris and interwoven with the sacred and secular life of medieval France, it takes on a larger perspective.

the devil's in the details
Revisado: 04-14-17
one of if not the saddest story I have ever heard and as with most classics it is incredibly long and detailed to the point of absurdity however the depth to which you get to meet each and every character is something that modern literature lacks and makes the long drawn-out details worth it

First hand experience. Hearing his story in his own voice brings with it a greater understanding.

Historia
Written in 1593, King Richard III is one of Shakespeare's earliest plays. This play differs from its predecessors, being amore structured piece, examining the development and motivations of a single character, Richard Duke of Gloucester, who will stop at nothing to gain control of the throne occupied by his brother Edward IV.
