The audio is like listening to the play. This is a fast paced and funny first person story about Amon Carter. You will find out much about Amon Carter and Fort Worth while being entertained.

Would you listen to The Island of Dr. Moreau [Classic Tales Edition] again? Why?

I've read this many time but this is the first audio that does the story justice. Harrison's voice and tone are perfect for this book. A personal favorite, but not much action. Harrison tells the story the way I hear it in my mind when I read the text.

Which scene was your favorite?

The first chapter, the explanation of what is about to occur.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. This is a tale to be enjoyed in small segments.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Classic Tales Podcast, Season Two to be better than the print version?

Yes. The is a varied collection of short stories and short novels. I've read many, but most are one that I probably ever got around to reading myself. And there were a few new authors to me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Classic Tales Podcast, Season Two?

The Purple Dress by O. Henry. (I would like to hear Harrison perform more O. Henry).

What does BJ Harrison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Bernice Bobs Her Hair by Fitzgerald and The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell.

If you could take any character from The Classic Tales Podcast, Season Two out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Sherlock Holmes from the Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle. There are many interesting characters, but Holmes may the most interesting character in literature. If not him, then Henry Adams from from Twain's Million Dollar Bank Note or the unnamed man from Jack London's To Build a Fire.

Any additional comments?

I look forward to listening to Classic Tales Podcasts 1 and 3.

Where does The Insidious Dr. Fu-Manchu rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not top 25, but top 100.

Which character – as performed by B. J. Harrison – was your favorite?

Fu-Manchu. He brought the evil genius without making the man a one dimensional cardboard character.

Any additional comments?

This is one of those books which are easier to listen to then read text. Harrison is the reason.

Would you listen to The Man Who Knew Too Much again? Why?

Probably not. The performance was flawless, but these aren't my favorite stories.

What does B. J. Harrison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The characters in distinct and I didn't have any trouble keeping track of them from story to story.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Complete Sherlock Holmes to be better than the print version?

No, but that is almost impossible. Any reading is just a reading of a masterful work. There are many artists who recorded the various Sherlock Holmes novels and short stories. An there will be more, but Simon Vance is the best that I've encountered yet.

Any additional comments?

My only complaint is that this is one file. You won't be able to go to a specific book or short story. This is 58 hours in one file. This would have been much better as 9 works, each with chapters. Still, this is a good way to listen to all the books beginning to end.

I got got interested in Edison when seeing the Menlo Park exhibit at the Henry Ford in Michigan. This is the first book that I've heard that covered his life and the impact he had on so many aspects of America.

Grover Gardner is my favorite narrator. There are a few sections that I think can be condensed. This shows the failures as well as the successes of Edison and he managed to alter our lives.

I've heard this three time now. The last time was after Anonymous came out because I couldn't see how anyone could think that Shakespeare wasn't Shakespeare. I still can't.

This may be may favorite book on Shakespeare. This book covers how young Shakespeare became the Barb. The detail is amazing and the narration is outstanding.

The Halloween Tree Audiolibro Por Ray Bradbury arte de portada

I've been waiting for this audiobook

Total
4 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 08-07-11

The story starts as a group start off trick-or-treating only to discover that one of their group is gone. I have read this short book several time, generally around Halloween. This isn't a life changing book, but is a good Halloween period yarn. I may be a little easier to follow as a book because of all of the characters, but the narration is excellent.
