Historia
In The Wind Through the Keyhole, Stephen King has returned to the rich landscape of Mid-World. This story within a story within a story finds Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, in his early days during the guilt-ridden year following his mother’s death. Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape-shifter, a "skin-man", Roland takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast’s most recent slaughter.

The benefits of author read books...
Revisado: 05-08-12
What did you love best about The Wind Through the Keyhole?
Unlike many here, I got my start in the dark tower series on audio listening to Mr. King narrate the first 3 novels in the series. The change in narrator back then was extremely hard for me, although George does a great job, so to me listening to Wind through the Keyhole was like old home week! I enjoy hearing the author add in the inflection, personalities and pronunciation as he intended when writing the characters...even though he is not a "professional" voice, he does a credible job of distinguishing the characters.
I love the story within a story format and it was wonderful to have this visit with our old friends; Roland, Eddie, Suz, Jake and Oi.
Have you listened to any of Stephen King???s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I listened to Mr. King read the first three Dark Tower books and enjoy his performances. He retained the "voice" of the characters as I rememberd them for so long ago.

Polka will never die!
Revisado: 04-27-10
A late addition to 'The Dresden Files' Audible lineup, this is one of my favorites of the series. In Dead Bead, Mr. Butcher fills out the character of Waldo Butters, who plays a major role in this story, gives us additional glimpes into Bob's dark history, and reintroduces us to some old friends...and enemies. The story is fast paced and exciting with Mr Marster's doing the usual fantastic job of caturing Dresden's emotional intensity. Dresden's resolution of the current crisis is, in a word, audacious! A credit worthy listen.

Interesting alternative reality
Revisado: 12-26-09
Modesitt has such talent in creating highly detailed alternative worlds and this is a fine example. I would not call this series action adventure, some might even call it slow, but I enjoyed learning more about the characters and the details about the world they inhabit. In this installment Modesitt delves further into the religion and politics of this world which is interesting and even thought provoking. The narration matches the content; not overly exciting but credible. I look forward to future installments in the Imager Portfolio.
