Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

Enjoyable but a bit dragged out
Revisado: 11-19-22
It was a better reading experience than the previous book but it did feel like it dragged a bit.
Though I did really enjoy it, but disappointment from that ✨one scene✨ we were all waiting on but otherwise a good read would recommend

Historia
Nora has been through enough break-ups to know she's the woman men date before they find their happy-ever-after. That's why Nora's sister has persuaded her to swap her desk in the city for a month's holiday in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina. It's a small town straight out of a romance novel, but instead of meeting sexy lumberjacks, handsome doctors or cute bartenders, Nora keeps bumping into...Charlie.

Not necessarily a romance book
Revisado: 09-06-22
While the moments between Nora and Charlie were magic, this really felt like a growth story with romance themes.
The beginning of the story started off so beautifully and made me feel so safe to be back in a world created by Emily.
However, there were points when the story just more so felt written about her sister and her with Charlie as a sub-plot (kind of like the Heart Principle for reference). I found myself skipping so much of those scenes because I just didn’t feel connected to that part of the story or really cared about it at all. Which caused me to put it down for a week before finishing.
I’m glad I did because her and Charlie really are magic, I just wish it was market better as more of a healing/growth in case you’re a mood reader and not really in the mood for that type of story.
I would still recommend though!

Historia
In the vein of Naomi Novik’s New York Times best seller Spinning Silver and Katherine Arden’s national best seller The Bear and the Nightingale, this unforgettable debut - inspired by Hungarian history and Jewish mythology - follows a young pagan woman with hidden powers and a one-eyed captain of the Woodsmen as they form an unlikely alliance to thwart a tyrant.

Good book but not for me
Revisado: 04-25-22
I think the book was well written and honestly a good story but I found myself zoning out at times and just waiting for the next thing to happen.
There were also a lot of things that made it feel YA even though I expected a more mature plot line/approach to the challenges they faced
But I would still recommend I gave 4 stars but it’s more a 3.5 for me

Even Wrath, her onetime ally, may be keeping secrets about his true nature. But that suits Emilia just fine - she's got secrets of her own.

I absolutely hated KOTW but I don’t have it in me to dnf a series. Honestly happy I gave book 2 a chance.
The plot definitely strayed a few times but this book was really good and enjoyable otherwise. Very excited to see where the series goes from here.
