Two people struggling through the grief of losing their significant, come across each other and feel guilt for their attraction to each other. I appreciate the author showing the internal struggle each character faced but wished there were more of them interacting with each other to show the draw to each other. I wanted more depth to the interactions or reflect on their time together to show why they fell so fast for each other. I love instalove but this one lacked the key interactions that helped seal the relationship beyond instalove. Good narration and decent story.

I really do not want this series to end. It contributes to my happiness every time I read it, and I've read/listened to it many many times.

If you cannot tell from the cover picture, they are married and also King and Queen of Ersovia. Sabina, Hermenegild and The Morning Eagle still want a piece of this couple. Navigating life as the Monarchy has been challenging for them, testing boundaries and loyalties. They both do things that breaks their trust in the other and test their survivability as a couple. In the end we get a beautiful happily ever after. I wish we could get a little novela with an update on the Monterey family, Iskandar, Wolfgang, Wilhelmina, and Horvath vs Hermenegild.

JJ McAvoy - Thank you for beautiful love story
Wesleigh Siobhan and Shane West - Thank you for a beautifully narrated book.

Gale and Odette reunite but it is not all sunshine and rainbows. I like that the book discusses racism. I don't need every IR book to bring up the subject but for their situation it would have been a huge miss if it wasn't discussed. The depth of Gale's love for Odette was joyful and heartbreaking. Odette's mind over heart struggle felt so real - Why am I here? The interlopers so determined to break them apart had me so angry and stressed at times. This book took me through so many emotions, and I loved every feeling it made me feel. Gale/Odette = Gadette forever!

Shout out to the narrators - Once again they help enhance such a well written love story. Please do yourself a favor and read/listen to this love story, you won't be disappointed.

This story had me smiling, giggling and kicking my feet because it is pure romance. They both need each other to gain access to an obscene amount of money but neither is interested in a marriage of convenience. You get the privilege of watching these two reluctant people get to know each other and fall in love. It's a great read and the audiobook narrators just enhance an already fantastic story.

I first read/listened to this story last year. Reading it again this year was just as fun. It is a laugh out loud slow burn love story. The narrators were great.

Normally, I like to escape when I read/listen to a book. I suspend believability (that would never happen in real life) and just try to enjoy the story as it unfolds. This is an age gap book, and I liked the realism in the book. I felt the chemistry between Sloan and Nix immediately. Sloan knew what she wanted in a relationship and was not into playing games. Nix, the playboy didn't know how to have a real relationship and lacked some maturity. Of course, the biggest obstacle was it being her best friend's son. This was a fun read, and the narrators did a good. This was my first time hearing Scott Rose narrate an audiobook, and I enjoyed his style. I love Lacy Laurel's narration style!!!

I'm reading the whole series not necessarily in book order. For this book - I bought both the ebook and the audiobook. I'm not sure which brother I like more Ryan or Ransom. They both are messy when it comes to meeting Ms. Right. Ryan's book is book 1 and what got me hooked on finishing the series.

This book starts with Ransom being a protector for Sophie. They hit it off and have a fun night/next day together then must go their separate ways. How they meet again had my jaw dropping and feet wiggling. I really like this story because it had a story, drama not just insta-lust.

Some things I liked/disliked
Dislike - Ransom displayed some anger management issues which I'm not sure got explained or resolved. May update after my second read/listen.

Like - One of the revelations Sophie had when it came to her relationship with Keith and it had nothing to do with falling for Ransom.

Like - The realness of the bathroom conversation with Jenna

Like -Interconnecting characters from other the books.

Like - Audiobook narration

I love this book and read/listen to it multiple times each year. It brings me out of reading slumps. I have the original single narrator version and bought this newer dual version, The male narrator captured Aaron's personality. The female narrator was good but her performance too muted for Patience. I found her emotional scenes flat most of the time. This is a passionate couple and Patience isn't a pushover.

Aaron can be described as a bully, controlling, mean, over the top alpha male. All of which are true but behind all that is a man who went through a lot as a child. He's guarded for good reasons. Enter Patience Thiers and it turns his emotions into something he doesn't seem to be able to fully control. This is a second chance romance with flawed characters. Aaron's issues caused him to lose Patience the first time and current missteps threaten his second chance at happiness.

Patience is the calm to Aaron's conflicted soul. She naively fell in love, got burned and toughened up. Reunited by accident, she doesn't readily forgive him for the past. Even when forced into a marriage she didn't want, she stood her ground. She sees through all of Aaron's arrogance and knows his methods may be questionable, but his love is undeniable.

To fully understand his love for her, please read/listen to Aaron's gift. To better understand their connection/bond, please read Until My Last Breath.

A Short and Sweet Second Chance - I'm Coming in

The author packed a lot in the book (less than 200 pages). I don't normally like 3rdPOV romance books, but the narrator did a good job of portraying the characters as well as narrating. I listened to Michael Pauley narrator another book and that it what brought me to this book.

Sweet may not be the best word to describe it because there was drama and almost all Ryan's fault. Ryan and Shawna's one weekend stand end abruptly with heartache for her and somewhat for him. I was rooting for Ryan/them from the grocery store scene. In the book it says he was young, foolish and a coward, all true but he was also determined. He messed up, kind of gave up only to find himself and Shawna in the same city six years later.

He orchestrated a blind date and brought them face to face again, causing suppressed feeling to bubble up for Shawna. She finally gets answers to the questions she wasn't able to ask six years ago. Hesitant to get heartbroken again, she put up obstacles but as with their first encounter, Ryan was determined to be with her. We see their journey back to each other.

It's a short book but alternating past and present chapter switches helps you see that yes, they were physically attracted to each other, they both knew it was something special between and eventually got their HEA.

Impulse Buy - No regrets

Scrolling through audible I saw a cute book cover with Troy Duran as the narrator, so I bought it. I've never read a Catharina Maura book so I really didn't know what to expect.

I enjoyed this story about Serenity and Archer both pained but from different ways and still managing to fall for each other. Troy's narration is flawless. Morae's narration didn't match my vision of Sera's persona. She was unnecessarily breathy which was unfortunate because I normally enjoy her female character narration style.

My nitpicky stuff -
1) Theo should have been at the gallery. If Tyra can remain in the picture so, should he.
2) Why did Archer say, "For two years, I imagined having her arms around me just like now" If the entire story he only felt guilty about what happened to her after they broke up. That statement sounds like he still wanted her as his love interest.

Other stuff
1. I will definitely be reading the other series. Characters were introduced and I need to find out more about them.
2. I hope Ezra gets a story

I did this completely backwards. I normally read the book and if it captures my attention enough to want to re-read it then I look for the audible version. The impulse buy paid off, so I bought the eBook and have read/listened to it twice already.
