Historia
The excursion was a mess. Sal's trust in his team is at rock bottom from the actions of another in the final fight. He now needs to enter the Tower and fight demons with the same person who betrayed him. As if that wasn't enough, he's pretty sure the former Super-Rookie and wonder kid on his team is actually a ticking time bomb, just waiting to explode.

Historia
Salvatore's worst nightmare is taking on a demon, but if he wants to stay at Quest Academy, how will he prove to himself and everyone else that he can succeed? He's going to have to take on an entire floor of a demonic tower before the first semester comes to a close. That's the least of Sal's problems as he navigates through his first student mission away from the school. Sal is more comfortable at the crafting table, but he needs to survive in a reclaimed zone outside of the academy with the worst team of misfits you could possibly imagine.

Historia
Humans have been pushed to the brink of extinction by an ever-evolving demonic threat. Portals are opening faster than ever, Towers are bursting into the skies, and Dungeons are being mined below the last safe havens of society. The demons are winning. Quest Academy stands defiantly against them as a place to train the next generation of Heroes. The Guild Association is holding the line but is in dire need of new blood and the powerful abilities they could bring to the battlefront. To be the saviors that humanity needs, they need to surpass the limits of those that came before them.

Exciting yet also demure
Revisado: 12-14-24
Such a good book! No idea how I found it but I’m glad I did. First few chapters had a bit of a slow build, but it goes hard nonstop until the end once Sal gets to school (which is essentially the first thing that happens.) fun characters and the narrators did a fantastic job. Lots of power variations and different rule sets which is fun and even with lots of “side characters “, no one really feels like a side character- and while there is plenty of flirty stuff going on, I’m so so so thankful this wasn’t a sneak-attack-romantasy. Keep up the great work! (Just bought and about to start the second book right…now.)

I chose this b/c the narrator is awesome… the story:
Revisado: 10-02-24
The main character literally FEELS like she IS the main character of a grand story and… while fantastical and charming, she does come off as more and more selfish as the story goes on.
Granted… it’s not like I don’t enjoy the trilogy… I love long long stories and discovered this narrator from her work on my favorite author Drew haye’s villains series and brings just as much great energy to this production.
I like the nemesis step sister to die hard bff vibe the arc gives and this book has me liking dark elves wayyyyy more then humans… though tbh the main dark elf guy (you’ll see) is a little predictable and feels kind of all talk through the whole story… he doesn’t throw out much magic…but he is a team player and has lots of information… just not as powerful as you’d expect him to be: “you want to see what this terrifyingly magically deep forest can do?!? Ok, you’ll see, and things will happen as they are supposed to!” I was expecting some green lighting bolt energy, but he was a very kind and compassionate love interest for a selfish main character…I only say she’s selfish because she doesn’t take anyone else’s feelings or state of being or story in mind at all when making her demand and wanting to know things when she wants and control other people and decide she wants ALL the eligible princes even though her sister wasn’t even trying to compete with her… very hard on her mother..which the story did a little injustice to by not really giving her a chapter or two to explain herself…. Of course at the end she “gets what she deserves” in a very “better watch out mom!!! You never loved me so serves you right to -you’ll see.”
Anyways, I liked the book- it’s very very trope-heavy… and the main character is live CRAZY…out of nowhere…but… by the end she gets what she wants with who she wants and everyone that ever did her wrong gets what’s coming to them in their own way…and the main girls’s servant girl gets invited to the royal party at the end!! Even SHE got a get happy ending(which I was rooting for because I liked her accent a lot and she doesn’t ever really become the main girls friend…she very much stays her servant…but the main girl by the end doesn’t mind that they can’t talk as friends….cause she had a good loyal heart all along.
(The main girl isn’t really that loyal to her kingdom…which is irritating..but…she learns her lesson by the end and always had all the magic she ever need inside all along.
Give it a listen, thankfully the romance is very light and doesn’t get to awkward and detailed/explicit like a lot of books in the genre kind of do too much… so I appreciated that all the romance and love was heavily…talked out, and by the end I think there’s a kiss and some hand holding and deep gazing into one another’s eyes… which was fine.

After listening to the series as normal and loving it, I must say that this rendition simply adds so much extra “oomph” to the story of Fred and his friends and adventures.

When Fred formed his own parahuman clan out of necessity, he understood that it was going to come with new responsibilities. Much as he hoped those tasks would center around extra paperwork and perhaps the occasional mandatory class, enough time around the supernatural has taught him to be ready for anything. Or so he thought. As a freelance accountant for the Agency, Fred soon finds himself being tossed into new, unexpected, and perilous situations.

Revisado: 03-16-24
I’ve listened to the original 4 books (plus corpies) as least 6-8 times. Needless to say, I love the series, it’s been my favorite series for the past few years.
I was u sure about the dramatized reading cause I have book 1 a try and was too u settled by the different voices.
This book3 though…stellar!
Such a good dramatized adaptation and I love the character voices.
I got cornrows dramatized after this and loved it as well.
Looking forward to book 4 when it’s complete.
I do recommend downloading this if you are a fan of the original book 3. It DOES add a good amount to the overall experience.
