Historia
I>Shards of Honor is the novel in which Lois McMaster Bujold introduced the science-fiction world to Barrayar and Aral Vorkosigan, Beta Colony and Cordelia Naismith. From this beginning the author has created a multigenerational saga spanning time as well as space. Bujold is generally recognized as the current exemplar of the character-based science-fiction adventure story.

Hated It
Revisado: 09-13-10
This book was a painful listen, plain and simple.
The characters are one dimensional and their motivations are not too believed.
I was stunned that a woman would portray her heroine Captain Naismith as a weak, mindless idiot! I simply found the storyline to be irritating in the extreme. Woman falls in love with her captor. Get thrown into his prison camp and marries him. Huh! I just did get it nor I didn't want to.

Old Time Sci Fi at It's Best
Revisado: 07-10-08
The book is the grandfather of all space operas. It's story that takes place over 2 billion years and has every you could want from and old time Sci Fi yarn.
It has bug eyes aliens, Ultra weapons, Ether shields and plenty of battles.
The story is a little unwieldy in spots, and takes a little preserverance, but is well worth it.

Fantastic
Revisado: 07-10-08
It's amazing to think that Mary Shelly wrote this book when she was 19. The book is fantastic, it well narrated and acted. I had wanted to read this book for some time now and I'm glad I did.
The story takes across Europe and onto the ice bound barrens of the farthest North. The depths a man's sorry to the peaks of his triumphs.
Don't miss this one.

Great book
Revisado: 01-22-08
Well narrated, a great story, much better and much different than the movie. A tale of desolation, depression and loneliness. Can Neville find a reason to live through the terror that surrounds him?

Historia
After the Great War that divided the peoples, the kingdoms of men plunged into a Dark Age that lasted 500 years. To heal the lands and restore the light, the great kings decreed that magic and all that is magical, be it creature, man, or device, shall be cleansed to dust. OK
Revisado: 03-16-07
This story is weaker than the first, the narration take a little getting used to and the story telling is not nearly as strong.
The Frankstein story gets deeper and weirder and still manages to draw you in.

Historia
The first in a mesmerizing four-book original series, Prodigal Son is a brilliant re-imagining and updating of the classic Frankenstein story that only Dean Koontz could conceive. Two hundred years old, the "monster", Deucalion, is a monster no more. Literate and intelligent, he arrives in modern-day New Orleans, where he will join forces with a street-smart police detective and her partner on the trail of a macabre serial killer.

Historia
Welcome to Ringworld, an intermediate step between Dyson Spheres and planets. The gravitational force created by a rotation on its axis of 770 miles per second means no need for a roof. Walls 1,000 miles high at each rim will let in the sun and prevent much air from escaping. Larry Niven's novel, Ringworld, is the winner of the 1970 Hugo Award for Best Novel, the 1970 Nebula Award for Best Novel, and the 1972 Ditmars, an Australian award for Best International Science Fiction.

Fun escapism
Revisado: 12-18-06
The story is fun escapism, old fashion pulp science fiction. The story line is a bit choppy and the end is very sudden, overall reasonable enjoyable.

Historia
In the 25th century, humankind has spread throughout the galaxy, monitored by the watchful eye of the U.N. While divisions in race, religion, and class still exist, advances in technology have redefined life itself. Now, assuming one can afford the expensive procedure, a person's consciousness can be stored in a cortical stack at the base of the brain and easily downloaded into a new body (or "sleeve") making death nothing more than a minor blip on a screen.

Horrible
Revisado: 08-19-06
This book is depressing, mind numbing and stupid.
The characters are all dark, twisted and unlikable. No one character has any redeeming qualities and the ending is so dumb it's strains credulity.
