Historia
I want to live my life in peace for a little while as opposed to pieces. I don’t know who I have to bribe to catch a break, but I’m willing to pay the big bucks. Apparently, no one got the memo. Midlife is one messy ride. Fine. I’m off to Lexington, Kentucky to find a self-proclaimed dragon who sports a mullet, beer belly and delusions of Immortal grandeur. This time he’s gone too far. He’s messed with me and mine for the last time. The way to end a dragon is to remove his tail. We thought we had. A tail is in the back. Right? Wrong. So, so wrong.

Good story, but…
Revisado: 09-29-24
I’ve really enjoyed these books, but I feel like I’m being nickeled and dimed. The books are so short, the last two could’ve easily been one book.

Historia
People say I'm a weirdo. Sure, my idea of a party is a mini box of wine and hanging out with a feral raccoon, but it works for me. When I’m accused of murder, things get crazy. One, I learn that I have magic. Two, there’s a secret magical city hidden right in London itself. And three, my only hope is a vampire who’s sexy as sin and scary as the devil himself. He's called the Devil of Darkvale, and he all but owns Guild City. Some say I should just quit and turn myself in. Not a chance. I’m going to solve this murder myself.

Worth a credit, but I wouldn’t buy each book separately.
Revisado: 09-24-24
Narration was rough in the first book, but improved throughout the series.
There wasn’t much character development, which made the characters superficial and not very interesting.
Overall, the story was good, just not a lot of depth to it. I feel like there were a lot of missed opportunities.

Excellent
Revisado: 02-25-24
Excellent series! Engaging story with all of it’s twists and turns. Also, the lack of sex was a nice change. The majority of books I listen to are brimming with smut, which I don’t mind, but it was refreshing to have a story that didn’t need to rely on its sex scenes to make the story.

Orphaned. Trained to fight. Raised to fear the power of Underhill. Secretly in love with a man who doesn’t want me. I’m still just Alli, a.k.a. the half-human orphan fae, but my life is looking up for the first time. It only took me my whole 24 years. But when Underhill - the ancestral home of the fae - shatters, making it impossible for any fae to enter, I’m the only one who knows who did it. A secret that will be the death of me if I do nothing.

Good overall
Revisado: 03-07-23
I’m not sure why such bad reviews? This definitely isn’t a 1 or 2 star book. I just finished “Chain of Thorns” by Cassandra Clare, when compared to that, this gets 3 stars. But, when compared to most fantasy it gets 4 stars from me. The storyline was good, although, some of the transitions felt abrupt and rushed. I also feel like there there could’ve been some more character development. Overall, I was pleased with the story and will be continuing on.

Great as a movie
Revisado: 03-04-22
The story was great as was the performance, but as someone who prefers books over TV I didn’t care for the format. I felt like I was listening to TV or a movie instead of a book. I will continue to listen to this series though, because I like the story.
