Historia
When Rosie and Penn and their four boys welcome the newest member of their family, no one is surprised it's another baby boy. At least their large, loving, chaotic family knows what to expect. But Claude is not like his brothers. One day he puts on a dress and refuses to take it off. He wants to bring a purse to kindergarten. He wants hair long enough to sit on. When he grows up, Claude says, he wants to be a girl.

Love the story, not the narrator
Revisado: 01-03-20
I have not read any works by this author before now, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was thrilled to find a new and original story on the subject. My only complaint is the narrator. She’s inconsistent on reading the narration and often brings one particular character’s (Ben) voice into the parts where no characters are even speaking. I found it very noticeable and a bit irritating. I’d like to hear a better flow. This is a great book but I probably would’ve read it rather than listen if I’d known to ahead of time.

strong story until the end
Revisado: 08-07-18
This was the first audible book I purchased and I’d been wanting to read/listen for a while. The story is, of course, very tragic. You learn that from the title. I enjoyed the first 75% or so of the book. Strong narrative and very detailed. I felt the end kind of just “happened” and that was that. I would’ve like to have had the last part be as good as the first. It is still a good book and eye opening, just don’t hold your breath for the ending (not what happens, just the story itself).
