Historia
During a 30-year boom period in France between the end of World War II and the 1974 oil crisis, Paris was not only the world's most delicious, stylish, and exciting tourist destination; it was also the world capital of gastronomic genius and innovation. The Gourmands' Way explores the lives and writings of six Americans who chronicled the food and wine of this era, paying particular attention to their individual struggles as writers, to their life circumstances, and to their particular genius at sharing awareness of French food with mainstream American audiences.

Monotonous!!!!
Revisado: 11-26-17
I've seldom had a book as tedious as this one! The voice of the narrator doesn't change just one tone in the half book I've heard ! It is probably well written, but it is impossible to hear and stay put and not to fall sleep; besides, the life details of the gourmands are so uninteresting as narrated that I stopped at about 50% of the whole book! Not worth it!

A classic very, very well read.
Revisado: 05-26-16
What made the experience of listening to Gone with the Wind the most enjoyable?
Everything, from the story to the way it is read, the pronunciation, the local accents and words. I felt like I was living in the 1800'.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Of course, Scarlett, although Red is also very enjoyable -in some passages, you can think you're seeing Clark Gables riding a horse or taken Scarlett through the stairs..

Historia
Dish up the red meat, eggs, and whole milk! In this well-researched and captivating narrative, veteran food writer Nina Teicholz proves how everything we've been told about fat is wrong. For decades, Americans have cut back on red meat and dairy products full of "bad" saturated fats. We obediently complied with nutritional guidelines to eat "heart healthy" fats found in olive oil, fish, and nuts, and followed a Mediterranean diet heavy on fruits, vegetables, and grains. Yet the nation's health has declined. What is going on?

Excelent book, exhausitve investigation.
Revisado: 05-26-16
If you could sum up The Big Fat Surprise in three words, what would they be?
One of the best works on the subject.
What other book might you compare The Big Fat Surprise to and why?
I cannot compare with other books; it is much better than everything I've read about the same theme.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I didn't have the chance to read it all in one sitting, but it was hard to pause and go to do something else. I wanted to know everything just right away.
Any additional comments?
I will recommend this book to everybody.

Historia
There are few characters in literature more iconic than J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up. Originally introduced in 1902 in another Barrie novel (The Little White Bird), Peter's story was expanded as a standalone novel in 1911 and since then has been memorably adapted for the movies, for television, and for stage.
Now, actress Lily Collins (The Blind Side, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) brings new, youthful energy to Peter's magical adventures.

A classic story told by a child without voice...
Revisado: 05-26-16
Would you try another book from J. M. Barrie and/or Lily Collins?
I would try another book from JMBarrie, but I will never listen to Lily Collins again.
What was most disappointing about J. M. Barrie’s story?
Even if I don't remember the story very well ( I think I will read it again) I don't think the problem with this book is the author, but the bad selection of the performer. When you read a story, you can imagine the voices, the persons, the environment, the time in which the action goes on, etc., all by yourself. When you hear a narrator, you need a voice that allows you to go by the same process without seeing letters, to enjoy the story itself. In this case, it is impossible to access to that experience.
What didn’t you like about Lily Collins’s performance?
I didn't like the performance of Lily Collins at all: she has no apropiate voice, she doesn't know how to express feelings, excitement or whatever the author tries to transmit. I couldn't keep listening at all, not even finished the first chapter. Besides that, her voice has been recorded without the appropriate volume, so it is hard to hear even with a lot of patience.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I was so disappointed that I stop listening; I tried again some other day, and the feeling was exactly the same. I won't recommend it.
