unforgettable book
Revisado: 02-01-22
I can not even begin to describe how wonderful this book is. the warmth and wisdom shared between a grandfather and grandson is captured so perfectly. The narrator is spot on and holds your attention. I wish he would narrate "The Old Man's Boy Grows Older" as well.
I have listened to this around five times now and it never gets old

Historia
In the fall of 1978, Ray Ordorica packed everything he thought he would need into his Toyota LandCruiser and drove north to Alaska. He came to a land he had never seen, to find something he wasn't even sure existed: a wilderness cabin he could use for a year or more to live, think, relax, read, and write. Ordorica found his cabin, fixed it up, and, although it was just an un-insulated 12- by 16-foot one-room log structure, he spent three winters in it in relative comfort.

this has to be the worst audio book I've heard in a long time. it drones on and on with no point. the reader sounds just like Don Knotts which makes it more intolerable.

Historia
When her husband passed away after a long, trying illness, Annie Dodds was forced to sell almost everything to settle his estate. Homeless, with little money, she wondered if it might be time to pursue a decades-old dream of living a quiet, self-sufficient life alone, off-grid. One day, when her son told her he knew of an old house on 50 acres, she knew it was time.

I can not say enough about this book. wonderfully written, you feel like you right there with her and come to know the author. this narrator does an exceptional job, perfect voice for this book.

Historia
No running water, no car, no electricity or any of the things it powers: the internet, phone, washing machine, radio, or light bulb. Just a wooden cabin, on a smallholding, by the edge of a stand of spruce. The Way Home is a modern-day Walden - an honest and lyrical account of a remarkable life lived in nature without modern technology. Mark Boyle, author of The Moneyless Man, explores the hard-won joys of building a home with his bare hands, learning to make fire, collecting water from the stream, foraging, and fishing.

if I could give this less than one star I would . Drones on and on, awful story line. the narrator is worse than the book if that's possible. I hate that I wasted a credit on it.
