Historia
This book brings unique perspectives to this key debate by exploring the history of green entrepreneurship since the nineteenth century, and its spread globally in industries including renewable energy, organic food, natural beauty, ecotourism, recycling, architecture, and finance. The book uses the lens of the extraordinary and often eccentric men and women who defied convention and imagined that business could help save the planet, rather than consume it. The social and religious beliefs that drove many of these individuals are explored.

I was surprised to learn how important each entrepreneur’s belief system/spirituality was to their contributions to sustainable business. The need for organic and green labels, especially in agriculture, was all new and interesting information to me. I work in architecture but it was nice to have a book that included other industries. I’m not sure if I would revisit this book, hence the 4/5 star rating. A very comprehensive and detailed chronology, so much so that I had to listen at 1.5x speed.

Historia
Cities are birthplaces of civilization; centers of culture, trade, and progress; cauldrons of opportunity - and the home of 80 percent of the world's population by 2050. As the 21st century progresses, metropolitan areas will bear the brunt of global megatrends such as climate change, natural resource depletion, population growth, income inequality, mass migrations, and education and health disparities, among many others.

LONG and I listened at 1.2x speed. But I think it was so packed with info. It was very detailed but sometimes that made me lose track of his goal/argument. It’s very thorough and worth the listen. A good balance of critical and promising/hopeful examples. Documentary-like mood

Historia
From growing up in Los Angeles with movie star neighbors, bearing witness to the music scene in the 1960s and seeing the rise of comedy in the early 70s, to studying mime in Paris under the tutelage of Marcel Marceau to becoming a founding member of the seminal comedy troupe The Groundlings, it's no wonder that Lorne Michaels offered Laraine Newman a spot in the original cast of Saturday Night Live. There, Laraine was part of the show that changed TV - and comedy - forever.

Not only for snl fans

I could have listened to a million more stories by Laraine! The book was concise and gave a good overview of her life, work, and personality. She had a lot of good things to say if you are in need of some good life advice. Listening in her own voice definitely made it more personal, and you could tell that although she may be in the “comedy hall of fame”, she considers herself a regular ol person and a mom at the end of the day.
