Historia
Choice. Power. Speed. Today's leaders continually face these forces. But with too many choices, too much power, and too much speed, leaders often make decisions in a heightened state of emotion (and drama). Hasty decisions are often poor ones, and in this climate there is no place to hide. Privacy is a thing of the past; the days of covering up or ignoring a problem are over. In today's transparent culture, the decision making of leaders is more vulnerable than ever - and it is more critical than ever to get it right.

Lacks Well Roundedness
Revisado: 09-13-18
Had high hopes that this book could be used to help guide my young and newer leadership in their development. Found the content to be particularly one-sided with many maxims and sweeping generalities about "most owners don't have empathy for their workers" and, " I have yet to meet a leader who knows himself well" [paraphrasing, but those were recurring themes]. Every here and there are a couple of nuggets and ideas, but they are surrounded by the author's apparent limited experience as an employee, not as a leader or business owner, and lack of thorough research about the challenges faced by a variety of businesses, nor quantifiable discussions of objective tools successfully used in for-profit settings to implement. The tone is quite biased and creates an "us and them" dichotomy, which is precisely what the title leads one to believe we will learn how to eradicate.
The narrator's tone, syncopated and staccato delivery and odd pacing likely added to my perception, as the narrator carries quite a condescending tone throughout. I will purchase the book in print format to see if I can discern more useful tips to implement as part of my development of my newer leaders in my businesses. my top line executive leaders are currently listening to this book on Audible, as part of our leadership development, and have shared similar feedback. nonetheless, we will mine the print version for any useful guidance and take part in the limited self study questions at the end of each chapter.
Disappointing, but has some moments of clarity and limited insight.

Historia
When facing contentious issues such as screen time, food choices, and bedtime, children often act out or shut down, responding with reactivity instead of receptivity. This is what New York Times best-selling authors Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson call a No Brain response. But our kids can be taught to approach life with openness and curiosity. When kids work from a Yes Brain, they’re more willing to take chances and explore. They’re more curious and imaginative. They’re better at relationships and handling adversity.
