This Kind of War is a monumental study of the conflict that began in June 1950. Successive generations of U.S. military officers have considered this book an indispensable part of their education. T. R. Fehrenbach's narrative brings to life the harrowing and bloody battles that were fought up and down the Korean Peninsula.

The best single history of the Korean War.
Revisado: 04-02-25
American-centric, so doesn’t comprehensively capture the perspectives/experiences on the Korean or Chinese side, but the best place to start. Liked how engaging and readable it is and how it tells the story on the micro and macro level well simultaneously.

Historia
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

The most chilling and terrifying book I have ever read. A warning all of humanity should heed.

Objective, Comprehensive Post-Morten of Trump’s Rise in the Republican Party
Revisado: 08-03-21
Gerald F. Seib is one of America’s great, objective reporters. Unsurprisingly, this book is the best post-mortem I’ve seen on the ascendancy of Donald Trump and his brand of populism in the Republican Party. With precision and dispassionate analysis, Mr. Seib tracks the trends that led to Donald Trump’s rise from Regan to the Tea Party. An absolutely essential and fantastic read for anyone looking to understand how the Republican Party has ended up the way it is today.
